You are using a human concepts, would you like to bring non-human concepts to be examined.

Have you ever read the poem 'The God-Maker, Man' by Don Marquis? It's very good.
No. I never got poetry I'm afraid. I got other things. Can I suppose it asserts in beautiful fashion that which you do above?
First, my favorite form of literature is not poetry, even though I do love a good poem, look at my alias that should tell you what form I like the most; so it seems i also have other things. Second, suppose what you want.

Look to this day, For yesterday is already a dream. And tomorrow only a vision. But today We lived, makes every Yesterday a dream of Happiness and every tomorrow A vision of hope. Look well there to This day.

To be fair to Iano...
the premise of the thread is IF the christian god as described in the bible exists. Therefore any question of "well he doesn't exist" isn't really within the scoop of the question.
(Iano - I'm scared that the crows are about to fly from London Tower and the world is about to end - we seem to be having far too many reasonable conversations lately.)
Edited by CK, : typo of "exist" becomes "question" - should not post after a very nice meal and turkish coffee.

Re: To be fair to Iano...
We've hit paydirt on the world of work. The consensus had to come somewhere.
Was telephone interviewing with a medical device company today (read American multi-national - and no I don't take drugs). I nearly shat myself. I'd go from me, the engineering manager with a gaggle of fitters/electricians etc to me with 5 degree qualified engineers under me who each had a gaggle of fitter/electricians under them and a shed load of American VP's of this, that and the other above me.
All for 7000 per year more. Do the math
{AbE} "Think of the honour, think of the kudos" said the recruitment consultant. "Think of the rapidity with which American multinationals move house" thought I....

What's that in American dollars?
Not that it matters. I just like to understand what I'm eavesdropping on.

Re: To be fair to Iano...
If that's so, then why shouldn't Iano have to answer subbie's question:
Even the most rabid [Christian] will accept that [Allah] can well exist. They would also accept that Heaven and Hell of the [Q'uran] can exist (for simplicities sake: Heaven is bliss, Hell ain't)
If you were to die a few minutes from now where do you think [Allah] would send you? And why do you think he would send you there.

About $12,000 or so. Double it and it wouldn't be enough to get me to work for them. The Yanks have about the worst employment conditions of anybody I know. The longest hours, the most cut-throat bosses, the fewest holidays. They are notorious for it.
Great if your a workahoic and like throwing "I work for Microsoft" comments around the pub. But little other than that.
I said "Medical Devices". Its actually "Medical Aesthestics" I didn't know what that was either so I asked. Silcone breasts as it happens
End of discussion...

No, the premise is
iano in his opening post writes:
Even the most rabid athiest will accept that God of the Bible can well exist.
Will, not if. If he had used 'even the most rabid atheist can accept the god of the bible could exist, that would be different now.
iano again from his opening post writes:
They would also accept that Heaven and Hell of the Bible can exist (for simplicities sake: Heaven is bliss, Hell ain't)
Here he uses can. So rabid atheist will accept god of the bible, then they can accept the concept of heaven and hell.I do not accept the concept of any god Also, what is his and your definition of a rabid atheist?

Look to this day, For yesterday is already a dream. And tomorrow only a vision. But today We lived, makes every Yesterday a dream of Happiness and every tomorrow A vision of hope. Look well there to This day.

I'll answer it. He'd send me to the deepest Muslim hell reserved for believers that God has a Son.
Or if he were real clever he'd give me 72 virgin females to cope with. I guess women don't get a Muslim paradise, being nonhuman or some such.

Re: To be fair to Iano...
Lest I sound ungrateful. A $12,000 raise here is a relative drop in the ocean. You have to take the cost of living into account. I have a yank mate who says you can buy a 1700 sq ft house in a reasonable part of town (North Carolina) for $150,000. Here that house in that location would cost $500,000.

It would in most of California too, double that in San Francisco.

Well is the second word from the end of the sentence. Ck posted
the premise of the thread is IF the christian god as described in the bible exists.
bold mine
Which i answered that you, iano, used will as the 6 word of the sentence, and if you had used can that would be different I never posted about well. If you misunderstood, thats okay.

California, San Francisco... Wicklow, Ireland. You catchin' my drift
It's the silicone breasts I'd have trouble working for myself.
Its a general trouble when your in manufacturing. Most products are, when you come to think of it, useless. I remember coming out of college in England and all the jobs where in British Areospace and Vickers - making weapons. I wasn't a Christian then but the idea of figuring out more efficient ways to kill people didn't really tickle my fancy. The only job I have turned down on the basis of what they made involved the notion:
"I just can't see myself talking about this at dinner parties"
Watch the progression:
Her (beautiful, shimmering...) "What do you do?"
Me (seeing where this is going *sigh*). I'm a mechanical engineer"
Her (checking my nails for grease linings) "Oh! That's interesting. What do you do exactly?
Me "I'm in manufacturing. I manage the Engineering department"
Her (Management - that sounds better "What do you manufacture then - is it exciting"
Me "It is very exciting actually - never a dull moment in fact. Machines are the mo...."
Her (Taking a leaf out of EvC) "So, what do you manufacture?"
Me " Ahhm, you know, its the FMCG stuff - exciting all the same though. Very exciti..."
Her "Whats FMCG...?
Me "Well (starting to see the next mortal sin disappearing inexecorably from my grasp) it means Fast Moving Consumer Goods: stereos, Computers, Food sector, medicinals....that kind of thing
Her "Ahhh. So what do YOU make exactly then. FMCG speakingly.."
Me "Toilet roll...."
