Just off the streets now, walked home all the way from the Museum. The city is chaotic but the authorities seem to be handling the situation calmly.
Having lived in Jakarta in the past, which saw 2 major bomb attacks (Marriott, Aus. Embassy) and a large-scale riot, my first reaction was, 'Not here too??!'
I feel sorry for London and fellow Londoners though. The city was so jubilant yesterday...
And just recently some al-Qaeda group has claimed responsibility. Doesn't surprise me though. I hope these guys burn in hell.
AbE: Just realized that today is 7/7/05.
The Australian Embassy in Jakarta was bombed on 9/9/04.
Terrorists seem to love those kinds of dates. 9/11 and Bali, 10/12.
