The randman shell game is back
So when Clinton places himself and the presidency above the law, he is a great president, but when Bush expands presidential power to stop terrorism, he is a dictator?
At the time I start typing this Jazzns has (according to the site Search function) posted 6 messages in this thread:
  1. Message 1
  2. Message 7
  3. Message 16
  4. Message 19
  5. Message 40
  6. Message 51
As far as I can tell nowhere in any of these messages does he claim Clinton was a good President - in fact his only references to him are to ask people to stop banging on about Clinton and talk about Bush (you know, the name that's in the thread title).
Yet again in this thread you demonstrate your frankly deceiftful posting style of refusing to debate the actual topic in good faith while hovering close enough to keep people interested and trying to get you to engage.
I've always called it a shell game, somebody else on the forum called it a rope-a-dope tactic a while ago. Either description works.
I begin to wonder if you're just a troll after all.

Gore and the Buddhist temple visit references
Hi crash.
I vaguely remembered that the story about Gore going to a temple where a fundraising event was being held made it over here at the time.
A quick Google throws up references in the mainstream media in CNN, The Washington Post and USA Today.
The Google search I used (democrat fundraising buddhist hacienda) also threw up a number of NY Times stories but you need a subscription to access them.
From a quick peruse it seems to me that there is a basis of truth in what randman is saying but, as is his wont, he is stretching things to make claims beyond what the evidence supports. For example according to the (admitedly old) articles I found there was only one conviction related to Democrat fund-raising, not many as randman had claimed.
Other than his love of playing the shell game I don't see why he couldn't have done this (in more depth) himself.

Re: 17 people convicted
I already provided ample evidence and a link from the wika article with citations that can easily be checked.
Yeah but the Wiki article doesn't provide a citation for the '17 convicted' claim (at least not that I could see).
I would also observe that I don't really consider 17 a 'multitude of convictions' as you claimed in Message 52
However, with a bit of digging I found something from the Department Of Justice which says the Campaign Financing Task Force prosecuted 19 people as of August 1999.
It should be noted that not all of these people were connected with the China angle (I haven't bothered to dig through the list to find out what the split is).
Actually from a quick read through none of the convictions seem to have anything to do with China. There are references to (illegal) contributions from a Japanese business man and a South Korean corporation but no mention of China.
