Hey Jar
I know it's been a semester or two since logic class, but wouldn't what you wrote be considered ad Hominem?
Besides, quoting verses from a Quran english translation wont really work in a debate like this, considering that most, if not almost all Muslims belive that the Quran is not a Quran if it is a translation; only the Quran in the original Arabic counts (if you want the source let me know). I have a Quran with the arabic text parrallel to the english translation (all in one book) so if you want I'll look up some verses, but not today.

Canaanites, Arach. Canaanites and amorites. It wasn't called Palestine in those days. And the Palestinians you find in the west bank are mostly arab, which was not among the canaanites or amorites that Joshua fought in the war. If modern day palestinians (The word palestine is connected to the Philistines)are somewhat related to the ancient peoples of canaan, then that as yet to be determined. I wont rule it out, but they are arab peoples. The Palestinians today are no doubt the descendants of arab conquerors that took the Holy Land in 641 AD (See "The Holy Land: Guide to the Archeological sites and Historical Monuments" By F. Bourbon and E. Lavagno, page 12.)
When it coems to this crisis in the Middle East, the escalation and tension makes me think I am about to experience what Jason Robards did in The Day After.

Re: islam as a source of terrorism
So they are named after the Philistines. Are they related to the Philistines? If not, then it is an improper term. And the land thus shouldn;t be named "Palestine" but "Philistia". And the word is translated "Philistines" not "Palestinians" and has been done so for quite a long time.
And if there is no relation to the ancient Philistines, then they should be called and only called Arabs.
Arachnophilia writes:
The Bible says drive out the Palestinians
The word "palestinians" is not found in the Bible. "Philistines" is. The word "Palestinians" is probably a Latin term for "Philistines". Hebrew was around a long time before Latin, and thus the term "Philistines" is more proper.
Let me do some searching though...

Correction
I was wrong, it (the word "palestinian" was a greek term that Herodotus used, which came from the word "Philistines". It was simply a word the Greeks used to describe Philistines and the land of Palestine (Canaan).
Although Bedouin Palestinians are mostly arab, the Palestinians as a whole seem to be related to not only arabs, but a huge number of peoples, such as Romans, crusader europeans and jews.
See both sites for details:
