That is probably the correct way to do it. On the other hand, speaking for just myself, I've made it quite clear that I am an atheist (I've said it loud, and I've said it proud), so if someone one were to indicate my opinions for me I would not have been put out by it -- just as long as I have the opportunity to correct any mistakes.
