Re: Solomon
You find a Jerusalem that is a vassal city-state of Egypt and not a Solomonic-like Jerusalem. It doesn't matter whether you move the date forward or backwards, you have the same problem. No one in the area ever heard of Israel, Judah or a Jewish Kingdom.

Re: Solomon
I will have to check Finklestein's book. I think the dating was multiple sourced and not just based on the Amarna tablets. Not even sure if he used the Armarna tablets at all. Are you saying it's the Bible has got the dating wrong?

Re: Solomon
Ifen
No, everyone egrees Solomon (if he existed) was around 1000BC. The problem is with the old chronology if you go to where it says 1000BC is you find nothing. Go to the New Chrnology's 1000BC and you find a Solomon-like city ocntinaing things that the Bible says Solomon built.
Remember near east arcehological dating is laregely based on pottery and the calibraito nis done by the existing egpytian chrnology. So archeologists - even after finding Solomonic-like artifcats - are commenting on 300 year earlier layers. Go to the new 1000BC and there's Solomon.

Pascal's Wager
Has anyone read "The Rejection of Pascal's Wager: A Skeptic's guide to the Bible and the Historical Jesus.
I just picked it up for some light reading while I am fishing in Canada next week.
Just wondering if anyone else has read it and if so what did you think of it.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
