Missing factor:
Foxnews, specially O'Rielly, is the world's most successful News medium - in record time. 99.9% of all he says, happens to be well founded and honest, as opposed trendy correct, and its antithesis based on a wish list of destruction and chaos if it was accepted and incurred.
Here is their virtual sole source, the military and propaganda arms of the current administration:
Media's refusal to address the NYT's "military analyst" story continues | Salon.com
Some people believe that power automatically confers truth, be it from Stalin, Bush, Charlie Manson, Jim Jones, or Pol Pot depending upon whichever one is geographically closest.
The term commonly used to describe such people is authoritarian, which is the antithesis of democracy.
O'Reilly is not only an authoritarian shill for the current administration, he is also often too stupid to even get the program right.
For just one telling example, O'Reilly twice blamed the Malmady massacre of unarmed troops during the Battle of the Bulge upon the American GIs of the greatest generation rather than upon the Nazi SS. He continued to proclaim this baldface lie as fact for days until the pressure became overwhelming.
As a veteran of the US Army, I consider this insult beyond the pale. I doubt that in this one case he cleared the story with the pentagon masters before broadcast.
To me this showed exactly where his true allegiance lies, and it is not to the United States or Western civilization.
IMHO O'Reilly is a liar and a traitor.

Your example's veracity and context is unknown to me, but on the surface it appears Bill is wrong here. But this does not allign with anything else in your post.
Here is the documentation of both O'Reilly's lies along with the lack of an apology when caught and Fox's coverup of the transcripts. Watch the videoclip: http://onegoodmove.org/...chive/2006/06/bill_oreilly_sc.html
One who has power merits some authority - this is unavoidable. It must be compared with other entities with power, and if they are equivalent. Here, the example of Stalin fails.
Might makes Right is the authoritarian anthem. Feed the poor, heal the sick and turn the other cheek are considered stupid beliefs for weaklings by the authoritarian. As one who implies unqualified support, is that your position?
O'riely is not a traitor when it is compared with those who's resume against terrorism is blank - or worse. Foxnews succeeded because it clearly made a mockery of CNN, and more power to Bill.
O'Reilly remains unapologetic in favoring the morals, or lack thereof, of Nazi SS troops over American GIs. As one who implies unqualified support, is that also your position?

There is a Church!

Sound like he should have his own church!
He has his own church, and indeed his own religion with followers aplenty.
The church is that of Baal and/or Huitzilopochtli, where death itself feeds the adherents. They salivate over more victims in a war they never intended to win. The acts of torture which O'Reilly and his sycophants so rapturously desire confirms their warped humanity and perverted sexual desires.
There is no Christianity in this sickness, nor anything else worthy of any deserving God, regardless of origin.
