Let's discuss Bill O'Reilly

I have no idea why anyone agrees to be "interviewed" by O'Reilly. He is rude, belligerent and pig ignorant. His interviewing style consists of no more than shouting the other person down, talking over them, taking mock umbrage at anything they say and constantly changing the subject whenever his interviewee makes a point. He also um's err's and slputters a lot, which wastes a lot of the time that interviewees might otherwise use to show just how ridiculous O'Reilly's arguments are. The interviews are often too short to have any real substance to them anyway.Just take a look at this well-known clip, where O'Reilly "interviews" one Jeremy Glick, whose father was killed in the 9/11 attacks. Glick has had the temerity to disagree with war in Afghanistan, much to Bill's disgust. O'Reilly just shouts and splutters at Glick, like a child having a temper tantrum, until eventually he eventually has Glick's mike cut off.What really strikes me as objectionable here, other than the general rudeness and un-professionalism, is that O'Reilly seems to think that he knows what the deceased Mr Glick senior would have wanted, better apparently than the guy's own son. Bill's loud-mouthed bullying of this young man is apparently what the father would have wanted. How insulting!It seems to me that the reason why O'Reilly gets so hot under the collar here (apart from mock-shock showmanship)is that he would like to have a monopoly on what the 9/11 victims "would have wanted", so that he can invoke their memory to justify whatever comes into his head. I hardly need point out how pathetic and fallacious this is.Of course, when someone Bill approves of appears on the show, he practically falls on his knees to blow them...
