CNN should highlight US contributions of democrasy and brave actions against tyranny

They are by highlighting the democratic primaries which will end the tyranny in the US come November 08.

And if we apply your logic as to why Saddam should be removed, we should invade a variety of countries, from Russia, Pakistan, China to several African countries.

...Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, Equador. Oh wait thats right they don't have oil or ties to the Saudi Royal family.

There is a Church!
onifre writes:

Sound like he should have his own church!

He has his own church, and indeed his own religion with followers aplenty.

The church is that of Baal and/or Huitzilopochtli, where death itself feeds the adherents. They salivate over more victims in a war they never intended to win. The acts of torture which O'Reilly and his sycophants so rapturously desire confirms their warped humanity and perverted sexual desires.

There is no Christianity in this sickness, nor anything else worthy of any deserving God, regardless of origin.

I would say US confronted Sadaam, not invaded Iraq. Sadaam invaded Kuwait.

I disagree. In fact, the real WMD, which has thus far taken more lives than any bombs, are the condoning by silence, of horrific falsehoods. Its not free speech - that is why holocaust denial is a crime in many countries. You will find that witholding information or knowledge which negates a false charge, is a crime in all bona fide judiciaries.

My position is, the Vatican and the Danish people failed miserably by not pointing out the horrific racism and disrespect of other religions, and blatant falsehoods paraded in the islamic world as history, and showing rage over a satirical cartoon, murdering nuns, destroying churches and business' all over the world. Such silence is deadly. Thus i say to those anti-American cowards:

how have the last 4 years been when the death toll of US soldiers is now +4000?

The war was won; terrorism, suicide bombings of marketplaces, mosques and hospitals and guerella warfare, is a totally different paradigm: this was exposed later as a global syndrome. You will find even a nation like India - which was so historically generous to muslims, giving two countries [Pakistan & Bangladesh] - is today experiencing horrific terrorism of its civilians in schools, temples and trains - so what hope is there for anyone else? Let's blame Bush, America and Israel - this is the sum total of the Dems and Libo maniacs.

However, I agree not a single US life should have been expended: Bush should have gone directly to the Saudi and Egyptian Regimes 9/12, and Gitmo should be housing these WMD evil regimes today. The entire Regime, including its concubines, 15 years up; and compensation in the trillions. But this is hardly what the dumb Dems are saying!

I have to agree here with rbp.

People who go in for conspiracy therories in the UK are most viewed as at best, cranks and often mentalists.

The UK media really has very little mercy when it comes to these stories: even when you compare the liberal press with the conservative press.

Someone like O'Reilly would never get on UK TV. We had an outspoken TV presenter called 'Kilroy'. He had a show that addressed current affairs and said something along the line of the rubbish O'Reilly spouts and bam!

Out of a job.

Belligerent Bill
I have no idea why anyone agrees to be "interviewed" by O'Reilly. He is rude, belligerent and pig ignorant. His interviewing style consists of no more than shouting the other person down, talking over them, taking mock umbrage at anything they say and constantly changing the subject whenever his interviewee makes a point. He also um's err's and slputters a lot, which wastes a lot of the time that interviewees might otherwise use to show just how ridiculous O'Reilly's arguments are. The interviews are often too short to have any real substance to them anyway.

Just take a look at this well-known clip, where O'Reilly "interviews" one Jeremy Glick, whose father was killed in the 9/11 attacks. Glick has had the temerity to disagree with war in Afghanistan, much to Bill's disgust. O'Reilly just shouts and splutters at Glick, like a child having a temper tantrum, until eventually he eventually has Glick's mike cut off.

What really strikes me as objectionable here, other than the general rudeness and un-professionalism, is that O'Reilly seems to think that he knows what the deceased Mr Glick senior would have wanted, better apparently than the guy's own son. Bill's loud-mouthed bullying of this young man is apparently what the father would have wanted. How insulting!

It seems to me that the reason why O'Reilly gets so hot under the collar here (apart from mock-shock showmanship)is that he would like to have a monopoly on what the 9/11 victims "would have wanted", so that he can invoke their memory to justify whatever comes into his head. I hardly need point out how pathetic and fallacious this is.

Of course, when someone Bill approves of appears on the show, he practically falls on his knees to blow them...
Fair and balanced eh?

I disagree, I think he may have old school Christian views such as those of the 15's-1600's. He is only applying old Christian values and Old Testament view points. I guess he's one of those believers who doesn't pick and choose certain parts of the Bible and accepts all of it without question.

The war was won

War is when 2 sides are fighting, not 1 side invading with superior weapons!

terrorism, suicide bombings of marketplaces, mosques and hospitals and guerella warfare, is a totally different paradigm: this was exposed later as a global syndrome

When you say later do you mean after we invaded? How many suicide bombings have taken place in countries who didn't support Bush's invasion?

You will find even a nation like India - which was so historically generous to muslims, giving two countries [Pakistan & Bangladesh] - is today experiencing horrific terrorism of its civilians in schools, temples and trains

Historically generous??? What history are you studying?

Let's blame Bush, America and Israel - this is the sum total of the Dems and Libo maniacs.

Just Bush will suffice...the citizens of the US and Israel have nothing to do with it.

Bush should have gone directly to the Saudi and Egyptian Regimes

Then who will pay for the summer homes and extravagant weddings? Have you ever heard the term 'don't aggravate the hand that feeds you'?

But this is hardly what the dumb Dems are saying!

Maybe the dumb conservatives should listen a little better, and that doesn't mean to turn up the volume on your tv when you are watching 'The Factor'!

I just noticed this little bit from onifr's post.

IamJoseph writes:

You are demonstrating the stereotypical American attitude. You think everyone who even remotely look like middle eastern descent are muslim supporter. You think that all people who look even remotely eastern Asian speak "Chinese". Just so you know, the difference between a Vietnamese and a Mandarin speaking Chinese is like the difference between English and German. The difference between someone from India and an Arab is like the difference between French and Polish.

I don't know what history class you took, but your instructor ought to be shot if he taught you that India had been sympathetic to Muslims. If you're going to make generalized and broad statements like this, at least spend 30 seconds to look up some info so to make yourself look less like an idiot.

I'm trying to see things your way, but I can't put my head that far up my ass.

I don't know about Ecuador.

But usually whenever I bring up this argument, my opponent runs like hell.
