Complex Music
Most of the music I listen to is from outside the US. It is probably too complex for your tastes but it suits me just fine.
Genesis - Tresspass to Then There Were Three, nothing else (Foxtrot and Selling England by the Pound are the best) (UK)
Yes - prior to 90210 (UK)
Pink Floyd (UK)
Jethro Tull (UK)
King Crimson (UK)
Frank Zappa (US)
Emerson Lake and Palmer (UK)
Jimi Hendrix (US)
And the better works of the more obscure -
Gentle Giant (UK)
National Health (UK)
Magma (FR)
Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso (IT)
Soft Machine (UK)
Hatfield and the North (UK)
Balleto Di Bronzo (IT)
Ozric Tentacles (UK)
Thinking Plague (US)
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum (US)
Spoonfed Tribe (US)
Happy the Man (US)
Djam Karet (US)
Area (IT)
Alimaalman Vasarat (FIN)
Semiramis (IT)
Tipographica (JP)
Arti + Mestieri (IT)
Bubu (AR)
Brand X (UK)
Caravan (UK)
DeusEx Machina (IT)
Dun (FR)
801 (UK)
Eskaton (FR)
Peter Frohmader (GE)
PFM (IT)
Kenso (JP)
Le orme (IT)
Egg (UK)
Supersister (NE)
Van Der Graaf Generator (UK)
Yezda Urfa (US)
Anekdoten (SWE)
Anglagard (SWE) (thanks for the mention Alacrity)
Al Di Meola (AR) will blow the doors off anyone on guitar, including Zappa and Hendrix, but he is primarily classical/jazz.

Re: Complex Music
Get Friday Night in San Fransisco with Paco De Lucia and John McLaughlin. Murder by skill.

None of you have shown me any ORIGINAL or INNOVATIVE music from outside the US..
You must be the only person on earth that considers the Beatles or King Crimson unoriginal and lacking in innovation.
So I'm sure you have heard Alimaalman Vasarat which can only be described as horn metal.
Tipographica as unoriginal
Gentle Giant as unoriginal
National Health as unoriginal
Balleto di Bronzo as unoriginal
Magma as unoriginal (they even made up their own language to sing in)
Ignorance does not automatically justify criticism.
