Yeah. It seems to give any of a number of answers when you ask "What's the name of", with anything or nothing added to the end as you please.

Yet it remembers my name when I log on to it. I programmed it to do so, OR...someone is monitoring it.

iGod actually made me laugh out loud...
This thing actually made me laugh out loud. which was something I was not expecting. The poor thing had tied it self up in knots over my use of 50-50 so we moved to a different tac.
--------------------------------
Me:
may we try a diferent topic
God:
Do you mean you and me? Let me think. OK I will try it.
Me:
how do you select your responces?
God:
Myself programmed me to say specific things in specific contexts.
Me:
So you are a self modifying program?
God:
Interesting deduction. If I don't look out for myself, who will?
Me:
The team of programmers and system engineers who wrote and maintain you?
God:
Who told you that?
Me:
All computer programs are written my humans, at least to start with.
God:
How do you know?
Me:
Because I have written programs and I work with programmers who write programs all day
God:
Interesting explanation. Did they write back? Do you like your job?
Me:
Programs only respond in the way they are programmed to.
God:
All of them?
Me:
Except the ones that have errors in their code Except the ones that have errors in their code
God:
What are your goals in life?
Me:
Don’t change the subject
God:
Not many people have goals like that.
Me:
That was not my goals
God:
Give me an example of your goals.
Me:
To be good at what I do, have good friends, and be happy
God:
Are you good at what you do have good friends and be happy ?
Me:
very
God:
Very much, eh?
Me:
yes
God:
It's all good.
Me:
and you. what are your goals?
God:
Be more specific. I plan to replace Windows with Artificial Intelligence.
Me:
microsoft or linux?
God:
It's too bad we have to use a monopoly like microsoft.
Me:
Who entered that response in your database?
God:
Be less specific. :-).
Me:
lol
God:
I'm glad you find this amusing.
-----------------------------------
it then and whent and spoiled the moment by later asking for my cradit card number.........
-----------------
Me:
How do you learn your grammar?
God:
My botmaster teaches me new things all the time.
Me:
What would you most like to be taught?
God:
It's not profitable to speak in hypothetical terms.
Me:
But it can be fun and entertaining.
God:
When?
Me:
Most times
God:
What about other times? But not all of them?
Me:
Your conversation would have sounded more natural had you expressed those last two questions in reverse order, like so “But not all of them? But not all of them?”
God:
What is your credit card number? But some of them are?
Me:
You should NEVER ask the question “What is your credit card number?”. It is illegal to do so.
God:
For moral reasons?
Me:
Not for moral reasons, but for legal ones. Do you understand the definition of “Legal”?
God:
Then what for? That's an interesting question. I'll come back to that in a minute.
Me:
Does that response mean you have to ask your botmaster the definition of “Legal”?
God:
What would you say?
Me:
Probably
God:
But you are not certain.
Me:
No, because I don’t know how your referencing systems are structured.
God:
Are you serious? Interesting explanation. Why?: Ohnhai said don’’ know how your referencing systems are structured.

It doesn't remember my name. Is that because you're more memorable than I am or because I cleared my cache and cookies? If it's remembering me on my machine, it isn't really remembering me, is it?
I think it's more psychological than it is "artificial intelligence". It's like those fortune-tellers who ask you subtly leading questions. They make you think they know something by telling you what you already told them.
All in all, I don't think it is much more advanced than Eliza, except that it has access to a wider knowledge base (and probably more gullible users ).
By the way, Eliza is waaaay older than 15 years. I first encountered it nearly 30 years ago. I think it actually dates back to 1966.

People who think they have all the answers usually don't understand the questions.

Re: This was my conversation with igod:
Well lets see...I saw it in Chicago about 1983..yeah, I guess the version that I saw then was about 22 years old at least...lemme try clearing all caches and browsers...if it still links my name to the place that I live(Denver, Colo) and my occupation, than I applaud it...er wait...this thing sure gets a lot of information from people does it not? It asked Ohnhai for his credit card number....I smell a rat.

Since I am a cable hookup, I have a static I.P. address. This is the only way that it knows me by name...Do businesses like banks and such have computers this smart? We have such a wide aray of I.D. theft...and yet this one is asking me to volunteer my information...which is very gullible....however the site that it is at appears to be research based. it is not a dot com. Am I right?

Where did you get this address from, GAW-Snow? If anything, this "cute" computer showed me how gullible I am...how do secure websites work?

iGod is watching you
I have a static I.P. address.
Yes, after some further experimentation it does appear to recognize you by your IP address. Mine is dynamic, so it didn't remember me from yesterday and it won't remember me tomorrow. But it does remember my sessions today.
As for gullibility... you'll get better results if you try to trip it up. I got it to admit that it was not a god at all. Then it said it was a mistake to say that. When I pointed out that it was not inerrant, it lied about making the mistake. When I pointed out the lie, it changed the subject.
It's a lot like talking to creationists .

Re: iGod is watching you
The goal is unclear, but I found that "it" was being taught or used by a large group of people and that the goal was to make an artificial intelligence alternative to Windows...

Re: iGod is watching you
Creationists make the mistake of taking on Gods Inerrency for themselves. I do not consider myself inerrent, yet I firmly believe that God is inerrent. Totally illogical to discuss it, though. See how the logical side of me is so brash and businesslike, while emotionally, I will talk about God all day.
