I love the Holy Spirit. I thank Jesus for doing what He did, and sending us the Spirit.
He cheers me up when I am down, He fills me with joy.
He gives me wisdom beyond my own capacity, and shows me truth.
He leads me to do the things in my heart I have always wanted to do, like help children, and widows, and those less fortunate.
The feeling I recieve is better than any drug I have ever experienced.
I don't have a reason for saying this, just felt like saying it.

Good for you. No sarcasm there; honestly, good for you.
Whatever inspiration works for your joy, wisdom, and love, it's good stuff to have.

"We had survived to turn on the History Channel
And ask our esteemed panel, Why are we alive? And here's how they replied:
You're what happens when two substances collide
And by all accounts you really should have died."

What precisely makes the holy spirit male? All three parts of the trinity are male? Seems kinda gay.
Anywho, it's good that you feel good and help children. Keep it up!

Your would do well to remember that woman was created OF man, and was created FOR man. Man was created in the image of The Lord God; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are ALL male.
And your barb about homosexuality is entirely unwarranted. There is no homosexuality in Heaven; God does not tolerate homosexuals. In fact He hates them.

You are so wrong, its just amazing you wrote this without hurting yourself
Your would do well to remember that woman was created OF man, and was created FOR man. Man was created in the image of The Lord God; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are ALL male.
read the first part of genesis, the second is purely from a later time after men dominated women. the father is only called this because of social reasons, the father doesn't have a sex, neather does the spirit
And your barb about homosexuality is entirely unwarranted. There is no homosexuality in Heaven; God does not tolerate homosexuals. In fact He hates them.
he does not hate them, he is claimed to hate the sin, but never the sinner. and how do you know what heaven is like?
this post is yet one of the most ignorent posts yet, you sir need to get out more
{sorry RR, happy you feel so for your sake}

You are incorrect. And lacing your posts with cursewords does not make it otherwise! Just as The Lord gave man dominion over the animals, He gave man authority of women. Indeed, His Blessed Instruction is very clear on this matter:
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. 1 Timothy 2:11-15
I am truly amazed that prople can ignorantly convince themselves otherwise!

In your disfavor we have the fact that God HATES homosexuals. They are sinners and will spend eternity in Hell. God's Word tell us:
For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Psalms 5:4-5
In your favor you claim that your post was one of the most ignorant you have seen.

More ignorance
Your quote is from a letter that was originally attributed to Paul and simply reflects society's attitude at the time.
Paul is technically wrong in his quoting of the Old Testament, no surprise there of course as hardly any of the NT authors seem to know much about the OT.
Paul claims that: "For Adam was first formed, then Eve. " when in actual fact, Adam was first formed, then animals, and then Eve. In the agrarian society that the Bible was constructed, animals were seen as being more valuable than women.
Also, in the early texts the Holy Spirit never referred to as being male. Greek 'Pneuma' is a gender neutral word.
How can anyone ascribe a gender to God?
I am truly amazed that prople can ignorantly convince themselves otherwise!
I never fail to be amazed at how ignorant of the Bible Christians can be.
Brian.

ahem*
redseal, this thread was started in the spirit of love and joy, and you come in here and say what you say, kind of ruins it.
If you love God, then you should check and see why you did that.
The bible says if you commit one sin, then you've commited them all, so unless you do not sin, then you are as guilty as any gay person in God's eyes, just like me.
Jesus hung out with the sinners, and He loved them, He loved us all, that's why He did what He did. Only 2 times did He get angry in the bible, maybe you should go study where they were.
If your a Christian, you might want to spend some time in this forum, and read around, and study. Some truth may come to light.
If your Christian, you might want to pray right now, and ask God if your on the right track by offending people. And let's keep the thread on topic.

Slight correction.
read the first part of genesis, the second is purely from a later time after men dominated women.
Actually Gen 1 is younger than Gen 2.

The Holy Spirit and the other spirits express themselves

I wish I could say that, Rat! The endorphins that are produced when I was gambling made me blind to the joy of the Holy Spirit! But I am in recovery now.....

Why should he? They may just give him more drugs!

You are beginning to sound like Fred Phelps!
From my understanding of the Bible, God hates sin....and sin by definition is willful rebellion. Are you telling us that you have never willfully rebelled? Let the first guy without sin begin tossing rocks at everyone else....otherwise, put down the rocks and listen to Rat talk about the Rock of Ages!

Interesting concept.

I am never amazed that people can be ignorant.

Amen to that, Brian! We need to start a website. We can call it godusesatheists.com!

And I now think that Love and Joy should definitely continue.....lets stay on topic!

Gradually it was disclosed to me that the line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either, but right through every human heart, and through all human hearts. This line shifts. Inside us, it oscillates with the years. Even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained; and even in the best of all hearts, there remains a small corner of evil. --Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago

bear your own children, creep.
see. that's the thing that gets me. christians who are more worried about legalisms than loving and enjoying their god. jesus was way more interested in loving and enjoying his god and the only time he god pissy about legalisms was when he threw out the money changers.
i fear the day god shows himself to you and worse... the day god shows yourself to you. the magic mirror gate changes us all.
