lol, the first thread I ever viewed on here was actually the rather large one where Desamona introduced herself and proceeded to ramble on for around 10 pages straight. You can be sure that she isn't the reason I'm here, though ;P. That Atre Jusan character seems interesting. I think it would be much more fair around here if we had a few of those around, but then again, too many rambling idiots makes for bad credibility.
contracycle: I know perfectly well what I was parodying. Just as others have been doing, I was merely making a point that anything can be taken too seriously if you let it. I understand that you may have experienced some troubling racism in your life, but that doesn't mean you have to take everything directed at a certain race so seriously. Context and intent are both important, and I don't think large-scale killings are the result of a few jokes. If prejudices exist, they exist, jokes aren't going to change that too horribly much one way or the other. Of course, I suppose there are always exceptions, but you should be able to differentiate between the exceptions and the norm.
