Hey Abbyleever/RAZD. I know that about two, or even one member will reply to this post, ahem...or even zero memers. But just why on earth would you want to see Lance Armstrong get a sixth win on the trot, when we all know that I have predicted a Jan Ullrich victory.

Why would you predict Ullrich to win the Tour de Lance?

lance = survivor
good in the mountains (yet to come)
and good on the time trials (2nd at prologue), team is strong (1st in team time trial gave Lance the yellow for a day)
6th #001 ARMSTRONG Lance at 33h 03' 36" + 9' 35"
20th #011 ULLRICH Jan at 33h 03' 36" + 10' 30"
I also think Tyler Hamilton is worth watching, he is also good in mountains. And Roberto Heras was the one leading Lance up the mountains last year.
11th #021 HAMILTON Tyler at 33h 03' 36" + 10' 11"
36th #111 HERAS Roberto at 33h 03' 36" + 11' 20"
All close enough to make for a good show. A couple of minutes separation at this point is not enough when you know the mountains are coming.

Ahaha.. But it was Jan's first, cos he won it before the ol' tough Texan arrived. . So Asgara and Jar can both be good posters and agree with me! otherwise, you're against me, against me, against me, and you hate me, hate me, hate me!!!!!!!!

Re: lance = survivor
Yes, Lancey boy is a survivor, BUT so is Jan. Remember Tour '98, when he fought back, or weren't you born yet.
As for Heras and Hamilton, they're good but I think they won't touch those two giants. Mayo is okay aswell. But I think we only saw a glimpse of what Ullrich is capable of last year, as when he won it, he won by a 9 minute time gap!! Since then he's ate pies during the winter, but not this year.
So how many minutes d'ya think Lance will win by then?
Thanks for the link!! Great stage profiles. First good ones I've seen this year.

Re: lance = survivor
Lances win is predicted in Psalm 89:10.
You crushed Rahab like one of the slain; with your Arm Strong you scattered your enemies.
To go against Lance is to go against the Bible.

Once, LOL
Lance's record is twice as long as Jan's and there is only 2 years age diff between them.
And of course I'm against you hun.

I won't venture a guess until after the mountain stages. Lance is notorious for hanging back in the first stages and makes up huge ground in the climbing stages. I would be a little disappointed if Lance doesn't win this year, but four in a row is still a great mark. It's too bad that this stink of drug doping is still following him around.

Agony in the Alps
As we can see by the agony in their faces, it can be an unpredictable sport, when we have such pain levels. I speak from experience of ten mile time trials on empty dual carriageways..
These are the two champions anyway...and obviously they're both great champs - whoever wins.
Ofcourse, only uphill can be this tough, pant pant...

Since you have experience in cycling, do you see a correlation between number of testicles and the ability to go up steep gradients?

Re: lance = survivor
Heras will need a stronger team to really be competitive, and Tyler has that (Phonak second in team trials and they have climbers too) -- as does Jan (T-mobile team 4th). One fall can wipe out 9 minutes, although Lance would probable stop, again, to win by good sportsmanship competition.

From my experience ... nope
that's with several 'centuries' and multiple day rides.

Well, is that a weight question?
All I can say is that it takes iron legs to survive the twenty one hairpin bends on Alp D'huez.
