And the results are in! Officially:

2. J Ullrich (Ger) at 1:01
3. A Kloden (Ger) at 1:41
4. J Azevedo (Por) at 1:45
5. S Gonzalez (Spa) at 2:11
Fastest all time records on Alpe Du Huez:
37'35 - Marco Pantani, 1997 (fastest)
38'01 - Lance Armstrong, 2001
39'45 - Miguel Indurain, 1991
41'50 - Laurent Fignon, 1989
48'00 - Bernard Hinault/Greg Lemond, 1986
It looks as if though Lance is the first six time winner, but we have one more intense day tomorrow, with the toughest vertical climbing day of the Tour. I see that probably Armstrong and his climbers will take the day at a measured pace and let anyone who dares to attack burn themselves out. Overall, The top five look like this:
1. Lance Armstrong USA US Postal 67:53:24 67:53:24
2. Ivan Basso ITA Team CSC 67:57:12 +03:48
3. Andreas Klden GER T-Mobile 67:58:27 +05:03
4. Jan Ullrich GER T-Mobile 68:01:19 +07:55
5. Jos Azevedo POR US Postal 68:02:43 +09:19
Jan Ullrich is undoubtedly a powerhouse and would himself be a 4 or 5 time Tour winner were it not for Armstrong. I do not believe the doping rumors UNLESS the entire peloton is involved, but I think that the secret to Mr. Armstrong is his fanaticism plus the Carmichael training. Soon, all serious tour riders will train the same way, and we may never again see a five or six time winner as the cyclists at the top will achieve parity....OLE,OLE,OLE
