The saddest thing about the Middle East conflict is that here we have a nation who gained the world`s sympathy for suffering...
It's worse than that. Though there was a zionist movement, there was no nation of Israel until AFTER the Nazi's had persecuted Jews.
Given what had happened, it seems unbelievable they would continue the zionist movement in the same manner as the Nazis did the aryan movement.

Now Israel gets to act like a terrorist!
The irony just keeps coming out of Israel. Apparently now Israel is able to use terror bombings in other nations in order to enact it's policy. Here is the story at Yahoo news.
Here's the main details...
JERUSALEM - Israel claimed responsibility Sunday for a car bombing in Syria that killed a top Hamas leader....
Top Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and the army chief, have warned recently that no Hamas leader even those outside the Palestinian territories was safe.
Israel's Channel 2 television said the attack was a new tactic in fighting Palestinian militant groups. The station said the tactic came in the wake of growing U.S. pressure on Syria.
So if ANY OTHER NATION DID THIS, would it not be terrorism? If ANY OTHER NATION DID THIS TO ISRAEL, would it not be called terrorism by them?
What I love is that this "new tactic" (which we previously called "terrorism") is being employed in conjunction with US diplomacy?
Okay Israeli apologists, where are you? Remember all the threads knocking Palestinians and violence? How about this?

Re: Now Israel gets to act like a terrorist!
Oh, now that's just rich... everyone expected that they did this to Hobeika when he was getting ready to testify against Sharon... but now, they're even publicly admitting this sort of stuff? Just great. What's next, are they going to drop the pretense that whenever they fire into a crowd, even if there's video that completely contradicts them, that they were "taking hostile fire"?
About the only thing that they can now say is that they don't go into buildings and blow themselves up... but that's because they can blow up the buildings without having to get killed themselves.

Now Israel says no Palestinian State policy has Washington Green Light
After abducting UN workers and making apparently false allegations against the UN, Israel was able to have its actions against everyone get excused by a US veto.
On the heels of this, Israel made statements that the Issue of a Palestinian state has been indefinitely postponed with American approval...
Pertinent quotes from this Reuters article....
Israel's unilateral plan to evacuate some occupied land and keep the rest will indefinitely prevent a Palestinian state with Washington's blessing, a senior Israeli official said...
"The significance of our disengagement plan is the freezing of the peace process. It supplies the formaldehyde necessary so there is no political process with the Palestinians," said Dov Weisglass, key adviser to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
...Officials in Israel's right-wing government have for months privately written off the internationally-sponsored "road map" peace plan and rejected frequent appeals by Palestinian leaders to conduct negotiations...
..."When you freeze the process, you prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state ... Effectively this whole package called a Palestinian state, with all it entails, has been removed indefinitely from our agenda," Weisglass told Haaretz.
"And all this with ... a presidential blessing," he said, referring to President Bush's approval in April of Sharon's plan to quit tiny Gaza in 2005 while retaining swathes of the West Bank, superseding the moribund "road map."...
..."What I effectively agreed to with the Americans (in talks leading to Bush's endorsement of 'disengagement) was that part of the settlements would not be dealt with at all, and the rest will not be dealt with until the Palestinians turn into Finns."
Is this true? Should this be our policy at this point? And why are the Palestinians expected to turn into Finns, when the Finns as far as I can tell do not live under occupation with many of them refused right of return to their lands?
Doesn't this signal that the real breach of peace is coming from the Israeli government, with credited support from the US?
