Tribute Thread for the Recently Passed Greats

Maybe the tribute thread can be used for tributes, and if someone wants to discuss how horrible were Thatcher and Reagan they can open a thread over at Coffee House.

Please, praise only for the recently departed. And please, do not use this as a debate thread. Perhaps Rush deserves his own topic.

In this moderator's opinion, this thread is for celebrating the lives of those who have recently left us. This is not the place for downvotes. If you can't maintain at least a neutral stance it might be best to say nothing at all.

The title of this thread is Tribute Thread for the Recently Passed Greats. When someone is not, in your opinion, a "great", and you're not offering a tribute, then this is not the proper thread. I 've been consistent about this over the years, see my old posts.

Any position on Kirk is valid for discussion in this forum, but individual threads have their own topics. This one is a tribute thread for greats. There are other threads where the role Kirk played in conservative politics can be characterized, labeled, and discussed. For example, Kirk is being discussed in the The Second Trump Presidency thread right now, and I just opened the Condemnation Thread for Recently Passed Reprobates thread.This tribute thread was also never imagined as one for discussion, just a place to note one's thoughts on someone's passing, in the way that people rise at a memorial to say a few words about the departed.
