Re: Content, not looks or probable politics!
yes. abortion is just a quick fix for a deeper problem. but removing sex-ed from schools and making condoms unavailable to those under 18 and banning the morning after pill and making it illegal to disseminate birth control information are not the cure. the cure is raising educated, empowered, responsible children who understand the risks of sexual activity and can make responsible choices like postponing it and taking precautions. you know what the number one thing that sex ed does to kids? it makes them postpone their sexual activity. they didn't tell you that in bible camp did they?

Re: Content, not looks or probable politics!
but it is a necessary freedom. the problem is getting pregnant. the solution is male birth control pills.

Re: Content, not looks or probable politics!
you are aware that exposure to semen reduces depression in women right?
the laws in the old testament were about women being property and men wanting tight playthings to marry. the purity idea came from the greeks who had sex with little boys.
all psychological and sociological evidence supports that a healthy, non-abusive, active sex life contributes to all kinds of happy things. no sex results in overly-high expectations, fairy tales, stress, depression, unstable cycles, and all sorts of issues.

messed-up virgins
I know a few virgins, and they seem pretty healthy to me. They have a purity about them, that no-one else has.
do you judge this about people normally? it's kinda creepy.
is this something you ask people right out? the thing i have noticed about virgins is that they
1)don't understand the complexities of human relationships
2)are painfully naive
3)believe that someday someone will whisk them away to a castle in the clouds
4)actually believe it when some guy says 'but i love you, baby.'
5)actually believe that love is something other than an evolved expression of the need of humans to group together to best ensure survival
6)are horribly intolerant of their former friends who decided that not being exposed to a penis was not in fact a state of bizarre mystical somethingorother.
i don't tend to think about whether another person has had sex and i don't use it as a judgement of who they are or how they behave. some people are gullible and fall for anything. some are old and wise. i think your idea of purity being related to sex is a creepy one and that instead you should be concerned with what they think about.
mind you. i think about sex less now than i did before i got popped. it was a bizarre obsession and, thankfully, now i'm over it. i wish my parents had not raised me in a "marriage only" house because that led me to fall for the first guy who fed me some crap about how he was gonna marry me. you know what messes up young people? people who lie. honest, open, safe sex between people who are capable of making such decisions without coercion leads to healthy attitudes and responsible sexuality. young people who are suckered in by older people, those who are raised to be ashamed and not discuss sexuality openly with their elders, and those who are too ashamed to go down to the store and buy a box of condoms have unhealthy, "messed-up" sex lives that cause mental instability, irresponsible sexuality, and unwanted pregnancies.
abortion can help a "messed-up" girl take enough time to get some help and figure out what she needs and wants in life without throwing her into a situation she's not prepared to manage. but effective birth control is a much better option. not to mention better sex-ed and better parenting.

I was a teen who had sex.
do you think maybe your unhealthy attitudes toward sex are a result of this?
Ask any woman who has VD, or vaginal warts, or a yeast infection.
i had more yeast infections before i had sex and when i was not having sex than after. once more, your lack of scientific understanding is demonstrated in your posts.

Re: messed-up virgins
What concerns me is that you relate your first sexual experience to being popped.
i wanted to say "got fucked" but decided against it. i suppose i should have stayed with my first instinct. mine was love. love based on a lie. i was in love. he may or may not have been. i am compelled to believe he was not.
it was not my first sexual experience. i was a technical virgin after being molested as a child and coerced by previous boyfriends.
maybe it's just my virginity that meant nothing.
after i finally engaged in intercourse, i noticed i had less urges, masturbated less (a mere handful of times in the year i was single afterwards), and suffered from less neuroses. and now i am able to enjoy myself occasionally instead of simply feeding a need. to prepare for arach's inevitable jibe, i joke about the need but it is little more than that.

If it's so safe and healthy, then go have unprotected sex with a 1000 woman, and then talk to me.
do you send your children bike riding? or roller skating? it's a safe and healthy hobby. you should send them without helmets and elbowpads and knee pads since it's so safe and healthy.
better yet. why bother to have your children wear seat belts? cars are perfectly safe. i mean. we all drive them and they don't give us diseases.

what's the difference between a pile of dead babies and a ferarri?
What people feel about it, isn't actually what will dictate if it is right or wrong.
but it's only wrong to people who agree with you. it's not wrong to the rest of us. and the fact that you want to put my life and health in jeopardy while you peruse my medical records to figure out in your own, uneducated, non-medical opinion whether my life or health is in danger is
AN UNDUE BURDEN

on my right to the advice of my physician.
that's it. that's what it comes down to. my physician should be my ONLY medical adviser. not my pastor, not your pastor, not bill frist, not george dubya, not that creepy bastard who anally raped his wife and subjected her to prostitution, and most certainly not you.
that's it. i don't care if it's "right" or "wrong" to flush out a tapeworm. all i care about is that it's WRONG for you to want to control my healthcare. you don't pay for it; piss off.
*edit*
well actually. the funny thing is. you do pay for my health care. at least 85% of it.haha. but i paid for it first.

Re: what's the difference between a pile of dead babies and a ferarri?
??? I did not get you pregnant.
It's your problem, not mine.
You do understand that I am for abortion if medical conditions are present. I am not for it as a form of birth control.
it is your problem. it is none of your business what my doctor and i decide is in my best health interests. pregnancy INHERENTLY causes medical conditions. it's not for the legistlature to make sweeping judgements about what medically necessary means. the determination of medically necessary should only be considered by myself and my physician. ONLY. period. end of discussion.
