Oh, for Pete's sake.
Enough, guys. Enough, already. Just go be gay. You don't have to run for office and pass laws against other people having sex.
Go on. Go. Be gay. Yummy penis, mmm. See how fun that is? Great. But even if you want to stay closeted, for the love of crimney, stop trying to play out your repressions on a national scale. It was funny for a while. Now it's just getting ridiculous.

Is It Just Republicans?
Poor guy. Having to resort to a public restroom to fulfill his needs!
Are you against legislation of morality in any way shape or form?
Should society just legalize all of this hanky panky?
I for one would like to be able to use a public restroom without getting propositioned.

Do you have that problem a lot? I'd recommend not wearing that T-shirt that says "ask me about $20 blowjobs."
Should society just legalize all of this hanky panky?
Should people who don't think it's wrong be trying to make laws against it? I don't understand the legislative purpose, here.
Why is it that, when David Vitter is discovered doing things he clearly doesn't think are wrong - having sex with $300 hookers - he doesn't just come out and say "you know, maybe we don't need to have laws against this after all"?
David Vitter clearly doesn't think it's wrong for David Vitter. What's the justification for thinking it's wrong for everybody else?

It's immoral to carry a sign that says "God hates fags". Let's make that illegal.
It's immoral to lie to children that the earth is 6000 years old. Let's make that illegal.
It's immoral to preach "God's word" while wearing a suit that cost $3000. Let's make that illegal.

How about quoting some of that cite, into message 1
As it currently sits, there is very little content - You essentially did a "bare link" message.
If you do some quoting, then we still have come content even (if) after the cited page goes away.
Bare links bad, even in the "Coffee House".

I have good news. Some guy in the Republican party propositioned a cop in a public restroom and got arrested for it! That is to say - it is illegal.
The interesting thing here of course is that this Republican happened to be cosponsoring a bill to make the very thing he did a felony rather than a misdemeanour.

I feel sorry for Allen...
From the news source.
quote:
They said they had undercover officers doing surveillance of the park and noticed a man in the park acting suspiciously.
Police said they drove through the park twice and Allen went in and out of the park restroom three times.
Police sent a plainclothes officer to check it out and that was when Allen offered to perform a sex act on the male officer for $20.
Can you imagine the kind of desperation he must have been in? All of this time, he'd been acting out what he was conditioned to do by his conservative upbringing. And all of this time, he'd been having the natural biological urges just like the rest of us. Spending a life time suppressing one's biological and emotional needs must be verry emotionally painful.
Instead of trying to seek out a mate like the rest of us, he had to resort to snooping around the restrooms and put himself on the spot for some stranger. I certainly don't have the guts to ask a stranger for some sex acts even if I want to get a hooker. And we are talking about a congressman here (republican no less) who has a lot more to lose than I do. Just imagine the desperation for some basic human compassion and love that he would have gotten very easily by being himself for once in his life.
All I can say is Robert Allen should be sympathized, not mocked.
Now, just imagine the emotional drains and pains many others like Allen have to go through everyday just because their culture has forbidden them the most basic human physical and emotional needs that naturally come from their emotional and biological urges.
Within the conservative movement, there exists a group of emotionally and sexually frustrated people that are going to let their frustration leak out in some other way, like seek out a BJ at a public restroom or molest little children... or insult gay people by comparing them to animal and rapists.

Disclaimer:
Occasionally, owing to the deficiency of the English language, I have used he/him/his meaning he or she/him or her/his or her in order to avoid awkwardness of style.
He, him, and his are not intended as exclusively masculine pronouns. They may refer to either sex or to both sexes!

He deserves sympathy for his plight. He deserves to be mocked for his hypocrisy. Mocked incessantly, and with a grin that can only be properly described as "shit-eating."

Yeah, I'm fairly sure that without this law, the guys are gonna be all up ons, Phat. You'll need a very large stick to bat them away at all hours as they swoop down from the rooftops onto your johnson.
They glide, you know. The homosexuals. Like flying squirrels.
Either way, in case it wasn't clear from my opening post, my problem is with closeted politicians playing out their repressions through lawmaking. I have no problem with laws against public fucking. I have a huge problem with a government official who passes a law in the morning, and breaks it in the afternoon.

Nobody ever told [him] it's the wrong way...
When will you stop acting like humans are born to be gay? It's getting about as tiring as the closet Republicans.
And all of this time, he'd been having the natural biological urges just like the rest of us.
No. Not all the rest of us have the "natural biological urges" to go have sex with same-sex partners.
What one has for the losing is not at issue. The reason you wouldn't ask someone for a sex act in a bathroom and the Republican would is because the latter is dumber than a box of crushed rocks.
Just imagine the desperation for some basic human compassion and love that he would have gotten very easily by being himself for once in his life.
No he wouldn't 've... and you gave the reason why not here:
Now, just imagine the emotional drains and pains many others like Allen have to go through everyday just because their culture has forbidden them the most basic human physical and emotional needs that naturally come from their emotional and biological urges.
He didn't tell anyone because he knew he would not be accepted by the society. He knew that being himself (especially in public, and especially as a Republican) would've gotten him anything but "some basic human compassion and love"
When will you stop acting like humans are born to be gay? It's getting about as tiring as the closet Republicans.

Re: Nobody ever told [him] it's the wrong way...
When will you learn to read? It's getting tiring seeing your incomprehension of posts. Almost as tiring as seeing hypocritical politicians.
Taz is clearly not saying that we're all born to be gay. Rather, he's saying that gay people are generally not allowed to act out their natural urges, while the rest of us heterosexuals are quite able to, thanks to society.
No he wouldn't 've...
If Allen was allowed to be himself, don't you think he could have found a "mate" that would give him some basic human compassion and love?

Deus ex machina.
While traveling around the South in the "60s, I - a Northern boy - was fascinated to find that all the gas station rest rooms had condom dispensers, and learned that these were mandated by law in a campaign to lower the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. For the life of me, I could never understand why all these Southern state legislatures would think that you could eliminate venereal disease by placing empty condom dispensers in rest rooms. (Yes, they were always empty.)
I guess it's the engineer in me, but this led me to think that there might be a good technological solution to Mr. Allen's dilemma: Sex-favors dispensers placed in all public rest rooms! These would have two compartments - an inny and an outty depending on your personal predilection and taste. Using modern display technology, you could choose from a bank of buttons to select an image of your favorite movie star, sportsman, or politician to display in the proper pose with the 'mechanism'. I'm guessing that button A7, which calls up an image of GWB bent over, would quickly get worn to the nub. I'm no bible expert, but I believe that having sex with a coin operated, video assisted, pneumatic-hydraulic contrivance is not listed as an abomination in the eyes of the lord (if you don't let your seed fall upon the ground). Proceeds from these machines would be turned over to the local police departments so that they could hire some personnel to do real police work, like find murderers and rapists (and people who DO let their seed fall upon the ground).
Damn! Where's a venture capitalist when you need one?
