I may have mistakenly pegged you earlier as a fundy, and for that I apologize. I think I simply incorrectly interpreted your comment about Jesus and bugs bunny.
Now, having said that...

Her transparency was refreshing.

FTF writes: Well...that's all fine and dandy...except for one tiny little detail. She was anything but transparent. She really provided little to no information...other than her annoying banter about being a "maverick" and a "hockey mom". How many interviews did she give? Let's see, I can think of only two...and she did not do too well in either (the Fox "interview" cannot seriously be considered as anything other than a complete joke). Transparency vis--vis the opacity of substance? Refreshing vis--vis the stale smell of elephant dung? And to call your opponent...a candidate for President of the United States...a Socialist and/or a play-buddy with terrorists can hardly be considered as being "refreshing". Disgusting...perhaps...but not really so refreshing. And if I had to listen to her invoke Joe the fucking plumber one more time...yaaaaack!! Man, what was it with the Republican Party being so fascinated with a fake plumber? The fact that this guy now has a publicity management agent, probably a book deal, and I heard rumors of a County Western recording contract...to me speaks volumes about both the Republican Party and Country Western music...in that, IMHO, both are currently vacuous and require very little intelligence. OK...maybe that's being a bit harsh on Republicans...but it still hold for Country Western music. But I digress. So anyway, how exactly did she come off in your book as "transparent" and/or "refreshing"? I will grant you the fact that she certainly demonstrated the "opacity of substance" you referenced. She showed an incredible dullness of knowledge...was quite murky on facts...and seemed pretty cloudy on most of the issues. But that doesn't make her transparent...unless by transparent, what you meant was that a majority of the American people saw see right through her divisive crap (and if that's the case, then I have obviously misread you yet again).

FTF writes: But I thought you said she was refreshing? Repeating the same old Republican scare tactic bullshit does not make someone a crafty politician. It makes them an asshole...just like most other politicians.
All of which makes her a crafty politician. FTF writes: I expect them to rise above calling their opponent a socialist and a terrorist. It was disgusting what she did...simply disgusting. Did you know that the Secret Service saw a huge increase in death threats against Obama after her rallies? She incited people to a level of violence that was completely uncalled for.
Just what do you expect from politics? FTF writes: I'm assuming that these are all post election interviews. She avoided the press like the plague during the actual campaign.
I've seen interviews with Sarah that appeared to be candid and honest enough for me. FTF writes: Really? Genuine? Really? I thought you said she was a politician like all other politicians. You seem to be repeatedly contradicting yourself in your own post.
I saw a young mother of five who was as genuine and authentic as anybody can be in politics, even if she stands opposit to some of my key liberal values. FTF writes: Oh come on. Ya know making comparisons to Clinton is becoming like making comparison the Hitler. Every time someone wants to denigrate someone on the political front, they simply compare them to Clinton. But, hey, if you call yourself a Democrat and bought the Bill Clinton bullshit then you wouldn't see what I see in Sarah Palin. But what was so bad and the Clinton administration? Was it perfect? Fuck no. Did I agree with everything he did? Fuck no. Would I have preferred him as President again as compared to this catastrofuck of an Administration. Fuckin-a-right I would have. Give me Bill Clinton any day over the assholes we've been stuck with for the last eight years.

FTF writes: Stupid? Let's see..he attended and graduated from Georgetown, Oxford (as a Rhodes Scholar), and Yale. I'd call him lots of things, but stupid certainly would not be one of them. Bill Clinton is a stupid man, and he proved it. What makes him so stupid in your book? The Lewinsky thing? At least he only fucked over his wife. The current administration has fucked over the entire World. Again...I'd take back Clinton in a heart beat over the assholes we have right now. But just out of curiosity...do you consider "W" to be stupid as well? What about Cheney? Or do you just have a dislike for the Clintons?
FTF writes: I shudder at the thought. To start with, she'd be too busy winking at Putin to do any good. And when she finally did attempt to speak, the first 15 minutes would be her telling everyone what a great hockey mom she is and how Joe the Plumber would prefer to avoid WW III because doing so would be great for the "Real Americans" out there in "The Real America". And then we'd get a load of crap about how...you betcha... God would be on our side. No thanks. Imagine how cool it would be to have Sarah Palin addressing at the UN in a last ditch effort to avert World War III. Oh...and then we'd all probably die in WW III.
FTF writes: She could...and likely would...do far, far worse. I take it that you don't like Colin Powell either. So again, I have to ask...do you like "W"?...Cheney? They were, after all, the ones that provided Powell with his "litany of lies" and then sent him as their scapegoat to address the UN. Could she do any worse than Colin Powell did with his littany of lies? And what about all the other points I raised about your wet dream...Sarah Palin. It was OK of her to refer to Obama as a guy that pals around with terrorists? It was OK of her to refer to him as a Socialist? It was OK of her to incite the crowds at her rallies to a level of violence never seen before in modern political campaigns? It was OK of her to insult a majority of the Country by referring to certain sections of the U.S. as "The Real America" and that they were the "Real Americans"? And by doing these things, you consider her to be "refreshing" and "transparent"? Are we talking about the same person here? Sarah Palin...the Governor of Alaska? Maybe you're confusing her with Oprah.

FTF writes: Oh for fucks sake...it's not even close. Blaming the Dems for the war is the absolute dumbest, most fucked-up pile of horse shit ever concocted. Christ...when are "you people" ever going to accept that "W" and his administration are to blame for the cluster fuck in the Middle East? Accept it and move on already.
Here a test for you. Which one on these bad acts was worse than the other: Bumbling Bush leading America in a preemptive attack on a sovereign nation, or the obsequious Democrats who let him do it?

FTF writes: And what do you know about Al Franken? Honestly, FTF, do you just say ignorant things like this...or do you believe them as well? You do know that this "stand up comedian" graduated cum laude from Harvard...correct? And since he's not a career politician he an obvious fit for your beloved category of "refreshing"...so what's your beef. And there's the astonishing fact that a stand-up comedian can nearly win a Senate race in Minnesota. Of course, the more important questions should be "what are his stances on the various issues?" and "what are his qualifications"...but then you don't appear as someone who gives a shit about those sorts of trivial details. Anyway, he was a Fellow with Harvard's Kennedy School of Government at the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy and he has been to Iraq seven times with the USO. He also shows strong support for pro-choice, gun control laws, same-sex marriage, environmental protections and a more progressive income tax system. Personally, I think he'd make a great U.S. Senator.
FTF writes: Well, we've had a corrupted one for eight years now...and look where that's gotten us.
What kind of a government do you want: a corrupted one or a joke? FTF writes: I agree...thank you George W Bush and company. What's your point?
We're a tabloid mediocrity, and I think another Great Depression is coming our way to remind us that Natural Selection also works on an economic landscape. FTF writes: But I thought you liked Palin?
With Sarah Palin on one end of it and Al Franken on the other, we don't know whether to laugh ourselves silly or drop the Big One now.

FTF writes: Like I said previous...at least he only fuck over his wife. George W Bush and company fucked over first, just this entire Country...and now, as it turns out, the entire World. You can give me back "BJ Billy" any day now.
Bill Clinton was stupid for taking all those academic credits you mention and putting them in his blood-engorged cock so that it could get sucked for a blissfull moment by a young intern in the hallway leading to the Oval Office. FTF writes: You cannot be serious. You actually think what Bill Clinton did is far worse (ie "stupid") that anything done by George W Bush? Give me a fucking break!. Not even George W. is capable of such stupidity. Ummmm, let's look at just a few of the "stupid" things that George W Bush has done, compare them to getting a hummer by an intern, and then decide who is the bigger asshole..."W" or Bill. 1. Lying about WMDs1a. and then lying about the costs of the war. 2. Abu Ghraib 3. Unheard of mid-term dismissals of U.S. Attorneys for purely political reasons. 4. Leaking a covert CIA agent's name (V. Plame)4a. followed shortly by the Lewis Libby clemency 5. Stem cell research ban 6. Katrina 7. Halliburton contracts 8. Domestic surveillance and "eavesdropping" on our phone calls 9. Accessing Library records to see what books I checked out. 10. Warrantless wire taps and searches (I guess the same as #8, sorry). 11. Lying about the actual costs of his health-care reform package.11a. and then threatening to fire the guy at the GAO if he mentions this before Congress gets a chance to vote. 12. His administrations complete bullshit sex education agenda. 13. Continually linking 9/11 to Iraq and Saddam. 14. And what do you think of his latest little stunt? Namely signing into Law (via a signing statement perhaps?) the right of a pharmacist to deny birth control if it's against his religion. UNFUCKING BELIEVABLE!!! Yet he gets away with this shit all the time. 15. Signing Statements. I have to stop now...every time I think of this stuff...my blood pressure goes up.
FTF writes: Wha? "Why and how" he did what...get a blow job? I think most of us got over that a looooooooooong fucking time ago. Oh...about seven years ago, I'd say.
And Bill Clinton continues to be stupid when he ignores the fact that many, many of his former supporters await a full disclosure of why and how he thought he could do it and get away with it. FTF writes: Name one what "more stupid than that"...stupid act or stupid President? Regardless, "W" certainly tops the list of any that includes either "stupid acts" or "stupid Presidents". Of course, James Buchanan is often included on any list of the "worse President ever"...but being worse doesn't automatically make you stupid, I guess . Luckily for "W" however, he fits nicely into either category. Name one more stupid than that. But this is suppose to be about Sarah Palin. And with that in mind, I have to ask for the 3rd time now...did you find her behaviour in the campaign "refreshing"? You know...the whole "socialist, terrorist thing". You found that "refreshing"? You were 'refreshed" by listening to her go on and on about Joe, the "not really a licensed" plumber? And you thought she was "transparent" because she refused to talk to the press?

Just watch and see how much social progress in made under BHO. FTF writes: But that is such complete and utter horseshit. It's like stabbing someone in the back, and then blaming them for not facing you and/or getting out of the way. George W Bush and his administration bear sole responsibility for getting us into this fucked-up mess.
I don't blame Iraq so much on Bush as I do the Democrats. FliesOnly in message 132 writes: And now for the fourth time... But this is suppose to be about Sarah Palin.
