Hi WK,
To remind you, see this prophetic article from the Onion in 2001. Great article, the folks at the Onion are indeed quite prophetic. My favorite of the predictions was...

Hi Huntard,
It takes balls to run for vice-president. Apparently not. I think you set that one up for a punchline.
What I'm getting at here is that McCain has so many to choose from, yet he actually went: "Well, that Palin ain't half bad, let's take her"? You're telling me she was the best pick he could make? I think the problem is in assuming that McCain choose her. I think she was chosen for him.And yes there was clearly a better choice, Romney, who pundits thought would be the obvious choice. Not only for V.P. but for the presidential position too. Shit even Huckabee thought he would be chosen for V.P.. Or am I missing something vital in American politics? Thats the way the system works, it is important to keep us in the dark and distracted. We are not suppose to fully understand American politics, or politics in general for that matter. The thinking is that we as citizens are too stupid to know whats good for us, and the country, so we are guilded ever so gently like cattle to where they feel we should be. Here's a video I hope you can appreciate,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_uXGCZenwY "All great truths begin as blasphemies" "I smoke pot. Hi kuresu,
Well, Pakistan does have nuclear weapons, and Pakistan and India almost used them against each other in the late 90s. And in 2002. Also, it may be that Biden was using the word deploy in a different manner. Not making excuses for him just giving a different perspective. Take a look,http://www.pakistanidefenceforum.com/index.php?showtopic=... quote: Edited by onifre, : No reason given. "All great truths begin as blasphemies" "I smoke pot. Hey Huntard,
Doesn't seem like a good way to run your party. Unless the objective was to lose.
Oi! let's get a daft one in there! I don't think they said "Oi" my Netherlands friend.
That's a bit paranoid, no? Not at all. It should be common knowledge by now. And not just in the US, even Canada has been faulted for keeping citizens in the dark,Government keeps public in the dark: Critics | The Star quote: If we're not supposed to know how this works, how come you have that knowledge? Lets keep that to ourselves.
I sometimes feel like going out and kicking the first one that looks at me with the same glazed eyes a good back thrashing! I'll join you, then we'll drink to our success! Hi fallacycop,
More unwarented cynicism Cynicism yes, unwarrented why? I believe I even provided a good article, not even from the US, from another country(Canada), where they too have problems with the government keeping them in the dark. If I search well enough I can probably produce many more of these articles. It is a global issue with all political system.

Hi Huntard,
I know, and wouldn't that have to be "Dutch friend" Or friend from the Netherlands, which was my original intention, which I obviously screwed up. lol
(I should know, after all EVERYBODY smokes pot over here ) Then put those beers away! I have a better idea!
Well, yes, governments are supposed to let people know, but sometimes this can turn the public eye against you. People don't always like the changes, even though they are better in the long run, so keeping something under wraps isn't always a bad thing. Well, this depends on what the ends are. The ends may justify the means if it truly is done for the publics benefit, maybe, but it does not seem like the 'publics benefit' is what they are after. It seeems like financial gain.
Though a more open government also has the benefit of seeming "honest" to the people. Open government? Thats an oxymoron. Perhaps it may give the illusion of honesty but, as long as its a government controled by one class of society it will still only have its own interests in mind, not the peoples.
Great! *Takes out two beers* Cheers mate! Cheers mate!...now, about that weed? Edited by onifre, : grammer "All great truths begin as blasphemies" "I smoke pot. Fo my benefit, tell me, why would they want that? I believe you can answer it yourself. If you had foreign business interests, and the US pretty much guilds the global market, and we currently are viewed as an oppressive nation full of bigots and racists(like Buzsaw ) who want to impose western culture throughout the world, and this type of mass opinion of the US is causing problems with foreign affairs, who would YOU want to be the face of America, Obama or McCain? If you remove the illusion of a 2 party system, and see it as a One Class System, then you may begin to see what the real interests are. "All great truths begin as blasphemies" "I smoke pot. Why do Republicans insist on making themselves such easy targets for ridicule I don't think they insist, I think it's inevitable...

” bring into effective action; utilize : they are not always able to deploy this skill. It's the use of it in a sentence that gives it context. Look at the way it was used in a sentence,
quote: Clearly Biden was not using it with this definition. You are forcing ambiguity on it. It is not ambiguous, the statement was clear, and in proper context as per the first definition.
quote: When the U.S. deployed its nuclear weapons against Japan we didn't just "move them into place." That is because we carried the deployment further, but initially they were deployed to a ready state. Then, they carried out the mission. "All great truths begin as blasphemies" "I smoke pot. only to troops and not to nuclear weapons. Being that im a former Marine(I was 18 and and stupid-lol) I can tell you that troops are considered a weapon. So, yes, if troops mobilize you are deploying them, they are a weapon. If tanks are mobilized you are deploying them as well, they are a weapon. If missiles are placed into position you have deployed them, they are all considered weapons. There is no difference between troops, tanks, or missiles, they are considered US government property and weapons for war, and all 3 get deployed. [abe:]You don't need me to say that the US deployed missiles, Russia has already warned us about it. http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/story.aspx?id=NEWEN2... quote: I would like to add though, if you notice the beauty of American euphemisms, Russia was going deploy missiles in response to our missile defence plans in eastern Europe. It should read "Russia deploys missiles in reaponse to the US missile deployment in eastern Europe". We didn't want the US to sound like the aggressors though. I wish I had joined the Marines when I was 18 instead of becoming a stupid frat boy. It's the exact same thing, only we wear a uniform. Barracks at night are a frat-houses. And in my defence I joined in 94, when Clinton was at the helm, it was safe for us. I would not have joined with GWB in charge. Then again im 33 now so I don't know what the 18 year old me would have done with a GWB admin. I was really gun-ho at 18 so I probably would have joined anways.

(3) Currently, I feel my vote doesn't count at all. After all, that's what the electoral system does. I couldn't agree with you more. I too did not vote. Also, anyone who was following the election could clearly see that Obama was going to win. You had to sift through the bs on tv to see it but, it was at least clear to me that he would take the presidency. "All great truths begin as blasphemies" "I smoke pot.
