yeah. i have a friend who's dad brags that his prayers sent katrina away from pensacola. funny how god spared the most sinful places in new orleans and only wiped out the really destitue ones.i think katrina was a created storm made by the republicans to wipe away unsightlies.

see. that's what i thought jesus was about. helping people because it was the right thing to do. crazy christians and their 'crowns in heaven'. the catechism i learned as a child said the chief end of man is to glorify god and enjoy him forever, not to do good things to gain reward. *shakes head*

good answer but what people don't mention is that phantom limb syndrome isn't restricted to natural body parts. anything that touches you and excites the nervous system can leave an imprint. and some people imprint faster and are affected longer than others. if i wear a hat, i can feel it for hours afterwards. i used to wear a ring that i was given and i could feel it for days after i finally took it off.but then we know i'm not neurotypical.

what do you mean? do you mean i took off my ring but no one chopped off my finger? or do you mean i just randomly start feeling an extra arm?yes the prior, as to the latter...

i think that would qualify as genetic memory... and it's not proven as far as i know.

i think i've said it somewhere before... but i have had dreams about buildings that i've never seen but i later find out to be real. they tend to be in locations where i have ancestors.i don't rule it out. i think it's a better explanation than reincarnation. but i don't think it's necessarily proof of a soul or of anything supernatural. just because we don't understand it yet doesn't mean it's got to be abnormal or extra-real. there was a time when people didn't understand fire or earthquakes.

i don't disbelieve in a soul. but i think it is foolish to just stop questioning just because 'oh well that's just your soul'. apparently there's some unaccountable 21 grams lost at death. i lose a pound or two every night unexplainably. i can't possibly sweat that much and if i weigh myself before i use the restroom i still sometimes am lighter than i was the night before. did my soul die a little? no. then i guess broken down food weighs less than undigested food.for a thing to be supernatural, means that it is not governed by natural laws. our brains are governed by such and as a result, i think they cannot comprehend unnatural things.

i think it is possible that things exist outside of the known universe that do not follow the laws of such. can we know about them? maybe. but we will probably never be able to name or understand them.
