Re: Just Seen on TV
I visited the Creation museum a while back on a cycling tour of the state. My Brother In Law is a very devout Christian and insisted on stopping in to check it out.
It was actualy quite fascining - really. I was very curious as to what was inside. Yes many of the displays were tacky and made you laugh but overall the staff was quite cordial and the 'conversion' pressure was pretty low which was a big surprise. During the tour my brother in law made it known to all that I was one of those 'evolutionists'. I was expecting people to give me an in-your-face attitude accompanied by a major gang bang style bible thumping. Outside of one zealous visitor who tried to warn me of my impending descent to hell if I did not repent I really had no trouble.
From listening to people talk about their beliefs I learned these people are set in their ways and nothing that is said or presented is going to change their view. They were talking about the 'fact' of 7-day creation as if talking about the existence of the sun in the sky. Resistence is futile - you will be assimilated.
Also..this is the museum in Cinci, OH. I am not sure if this is the same museum as discussed here.
