Hovind busted, finally

I wonder where all the "liberal, anti-Christian" media and populace are? Shouldn't we be out there screaming for him to rot in prison? Shouldn't my local "extreme liberal" newspaper (the NY Times) be calling for his head for daring to be a Christian and a creationist at the same time? I mean, he is a martyr for the cause, is he not? A big-profile case involving a poor, trod upon truth speaker? Or is it just a small profile, tax evasion case involving a con man who wants to dupe people and also get their money while avoiding taxes to line his pockets even more.I make my money by working hard. I pay my taxes (even tho I do not agree where some of these taxes go) because it means I get to work every day on the subway or, when I lived in an area with little public transportation, that I can drive to work on decent roads or that I have a cheap avenue to fight against (some) unscrupulous landlords or that I can get health care for a reasonable price without health insurance (but, "god help me" if I have an emergency) due to grants to community health services and universities or that my nieces and nephews get a good education or that I can go back to school and get a new degree without having to put in 20 hour days of school and work.I know (and lament the fact that) these issues are of little concern to many in this country.But, I pay my taxes to support this war that I do not support, I pay my taxes to support HUGE factory farms and HUGE energy conglomerates, and HUGE corporations and (now under Pres. Bush, HUGE religious organizations) that I do not feel have any more right to "their money" than I do, especially when I am the one breaking my back to make them their money. But, I pay my goddamn taxes as well as help out my "fellow man" out of my own pocket because I know that charity our of the goodness of our hearts only goes so far. Usually as far as our "hearts" allow.Our government probably spent more prosecuting this sorry excuse for a Christian than they will get out of him and I am saddened by that. If he wasn't so concerned about saving people's souls from the devil's evolution, he might have helped save some people from hell on earth.

I think I was actually confusing Kennedy's assassination in 1963 with Lincoln's. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.Oh well. The mistake has been corrected and the blush emoticon is properly conveying my shame.
