Heh heh, yep! I know I didn't register anything like a year ago, but I've been reading the forum for at least that long and I post very little, so I thought I'd better poke my nose in, too (sorry Ned, I couldn't resist ). Anyway, just letting the admins know that I am officially "still here!"

Re: Just...
Don't worry Tony, anyone who has posted, even once a long time ago, can't be deleted. Each post belongs to a specific poster and to delete the poster would be to orphan the post. In a good database, this shouldn't happen. AdminAsgara Queen of the Universe

Deleting Old Members With Zero Posts
This is just to let people know that I'm doing this once again, and plan to do it periodically. Members with zero posts who registered a year or more ago, 34 in number today, are being deleted from the database.--Percy

Re: Actually for Percy/Admin's attention
Hi, Moose. So what happened to the effort to clear the member list of inactive names? As an example, in the first page alone, we have 1) aabbey, which has a link to a page no longer operational. 2)AaronM- no activity for over a year. 3) abbeyj-no apparant activity 4)abdhamed-although I would give him another few months...Egypt is a long way off. 5)abe-no activity 6)absolutelycatholic--and absolutely no activity forever! :) etc...etc...you get the idea. Why not get rid of them?

I like it that way. I would prefer that any such member deletions be left to Percy. But I think I agree with AdminJar's (Private Admin Forum) message, that since we now have online member listings, perhaps we should now not delete such members. Adminnemooseus

Phew
Just making sure I wasn't deleted. I don't post often, but do read this page quite a bit. I guess I should get more active on the board so this thing doesn't make me go "OH CRAP, QUICK, WHERE'S THE REPLY BUTTON SO I CAN SEE IF I CAN LOG IN!!!" Phew. Brad

Re: Phew
Don't worry Shadow, no one is deleted that has posted at least once. That would orphan your posts. Not something you do with a database.

Who've Posted "NO MESSAGES" for How Long?
Dear Administrator:I registered over one year ago, and have posted no recent messages because: 1) I have received no replies for the past couple of months to my most recent messages. 2) I am extremely busy during the first three or four months of each new year, and only have time to read forums, but no time to spend posting messages. Please consider this a request to remain a member with my current password and priveleges. Regards, Abshalom

you could set the system to fire out an email at every month of contunued total lack of activity. saying something like;"We have noticed you have not yet posted to the EvC forums after -N- days. Click here to visit the EvC Forums. or Click here to deleate your EvC Forums account" after three concecative unanswered massages assume a DNA (Dead Never Active) and loose the account. Woulndt auromatically deleate the account just fire a message to the admins to do so.

Re: Member Pruning Now
Go for it, Boss! :) I never did like clutter! Ohnhais idea seems good too, though. As far as the alias thing goes, is there any way to delete an alias name without deleting the alias postings? Wouldnt the postings simply remain with the primary name?
