There is a fair amount of "quotation structure butchering" happening.
It's often hard to tell what is the quoted, and what is the replies to the quoted.
Could the responsible parties try to be more careful, and try to prevent or fix these things.

Guilty party of the moment is robinrohan, in the topic string "How Do You Know The Truth", at http://EvC Forum: How do you know truth?.
I had previously fixed the quote structure of message 8, but messages 18, 24, and 29 still need repairing.
Please see the UBB code help page, at EvC Forum: dBCodes, if needed.

In the case of the posts mentioned by Adminnemouseus, they all have an open quote but no close quote.
In the robinrohan example I cite in message 5, seemingly (more or less) the initial paragraph is quoted material, and then there is a reply. Then there is more quoted material and more reply. Since I wasn't the one making the replies, it would require study of the original message to determine what the quoted material is. Past experience is, that fixing such messages can take me something like 10 minutes each, and even then I might not get it right. That's why I'm really trying to pass the job back to the person making the replies.
People really need to uses the preview function, to see if the attributes of the quotes and replies are clear. In the robinrohan examples, I find it hard to know who is saying what.
once again, I'd like to mention that anyone can look at any message in the edit mode. That's a good way to see how others do things. Only the message originator or someone with admin powers can actually successfully submit edit changes.

With the blessing of the big Admin guy, I have made a minor tweek to the member's editing setting.
Members can still edit their messages in the customary way, but they will no longer be able to delete the message entirely.
Thus, a member can withdraw the content of the message, by editing to a blank message, or by posting a note such as "message withdrawn", but some sort of message will persist, with the information of the posters name, and also any editing names.
Message deletion has been a very minor happening, but the above mentioned will eliminate any possibility. This will prevent missing message numbers from happening, and will prevent entire topics from being deleted by having the first message deleted.
This message deletion restriction DOES NOT restrict deletions by anyone with administrative status, but I would strongly suggest that the administrators also voluntarily act as if it did.
