Hi Percy,I'm getting strange symbols instead of the proper ones that should be present. It may have something to do with my language settings. My keyboard is DE (German), I'm using firefox (latest one as I just updated it recently). I'll copy and paste examples:

What other infos about my system do you need?{ABE} Actually I just noticed this symbol problem on another website. I'm going to deinstall some of my FF add-ons and then check to see about having/getting the newest version of FF. I'll edit this again later with my results.{ABE} I tried everything in FF; no fix.

That little box should be a symbol for "does not equal" crossed through equals sign. It is happening in firefox and I.E. I did'nt look at it on my other newer PC but that will be the next step.

Don't confuse equality with

I found some stuff on google and it seems to be an issue relating to the apostrophe marks and quote marks. If you google the error is shows quite a few discussions of the error symbols.

Ah yes, I can get it to display correctly if I flip the firefox tab into an IE tab and then switch the coding as you said into UTF-8. Nice one.
