There is no eveidence that anything needed to be created in the first place. It's probably allways been here in one form or another.
There is Big Bang theory, which suggests that the universe came into being. I've always thought that, if anything, Big Bang theory suggested a God.

There cannot be such a thing as non-existence.
There are 2 alternatives.
1. the universe or some universe has always existed in some form.
2. something eternal created it.
Big Bang suggests (does not prove) that the only universe we know about came into being.
Your idea that there can be no such thing as "nothing," I think I agree with, without knowing why.
