Re: How can the average Christian know how to debate with knowledgeable evolutionists?
quote:
A friend of Ken Ham’s told of how he once was arguing with an evolutionary geologist. This evolutionist went on and on for ages about the layers of rocks and millions of years. Finally, he just said to the man, Were you there? The geologist was dumbfounded.
If we are talking about equal standards, the geologist should have asked Ken Ham if he was there when Genesis was written, or on Noah's Ark . . . well, I could go on and on.
This is the flippancy with which evos have to contend. Of course we weren't there, but neither were the creationists. However, there is a method of determining what happened in the past, a little thing called science. If this type of defense really works for creationists, they should be teaching this technique to defense attorneys. Could you imagine this situation . . .
. . . So the forensic scientist went on and on about fingerprints, ballistics, blood spatters, DNA tests. Then the defense attorney went up to the stand and said, "Were you there?" The forensic scientist was dumbfounded and left the witness stand in dismay . . .
Yeah, great idea AiG.

Re: Debating ID Science
Hi Percy. I've been busy, as you are aware, on the Debate discussion. I appreciate that I have been allowed to debate the thermodynamic laws on the basis of my ID ideology in the forum unrestricted by admin. This indicates to me that so long as creationists follow forum guidelines, we can do so, regardless as to whether my hypothesis is acceptable by the majority.
This thread has given us all a chance to discuss the issue of fairness and balance for posters of very different views. That's about all I have in mind to add to the thread. Thanks for bumping it up.

The immeasurable present is forever consuming the eternal future and extending the infinite past. buz

Thank You Buz
Buz dear have I ever told you how much I appreciate your graciousness? No matter how our views differ, or how "heated" a discussion gets you have never failed to give thanks and appreciation where you thought it was due.
