Just look over to the left. My post count is back to the single digit. What the heck happened?

You are not alone!
AdminAsgara was also hit by the same bug.
I need to know what you and AdminAsgara both did in order to track this down. Other people who have been posting messages are not affected, so that's not it. Did either of you begin a new thread? Delete a message (supposedly not allowed, but it's something I didn't check after the update)? Update your profile? Once I have a little more info I should be able to track it down.
Don't worry about your post counts being permanently lost. Sometime in the next few weeks I'll probably be rebuilding the member data files. In the meantime, enjoy being the only one with Member status who has less than 30 posts.

Good to know I'm not the only one.

I noticed the problem when I posted a message Message 81. The post count back then was 4 and it is still 4. I began 2 threads since the upgrade. Did not update my file. Besides those things, I didn't really do anything else.

It would seem that my post count will always remain below a 5. Everytime I post a message it goes back down to 1.

Would you have any objections if I logged in as you so I could run some experiments? I'm not sure when I would get to it, probably in the next week or so, so let me know if that's okay with you. Board policy doesn't allow administrators to log in as someone else without their approval.

Joking. Go ahead and do what you want. That way, I can post something really nasty and blame it on you.

Re: You are not alone!
When I started this thread, my post counts went down to 0, but my post counts on other threads stayed normal. I don't have very many posts (about 30), so it isn't a problem for me, but it might help you find the bug. (any admin can log in as me if you want)

Re: You are not alone!
I've been working on other bugs today, but on a positive note, I *have* been able to reproduce the post count bug myself. I didn't notice it right away, but I, too, thought it might be related to new threads. Lam, did you start a thread on Sunday when your post count was affected?
Anyway, don't worry about the post counts being inaccurate for very long. As soon as the bug fixing is done I will rebuild the member data files, and then all the counts will be accurate.

Probably. Anyway, I've noticed that everytime I started a new post, my post count goes back to 1.
When you rebuild the data files, could you give me 3000 post counts?

one other problem
is that if you create a topic in proposed new topics, it is impossible to go back and edit the title to fix fumbled fingered spelling errors.
And yes, when you start a thread the post count goes to zero.

Post Count Bug Fixed
The post count was being reset to 1 whenever you started a new thread. I believe this is now fixed, so anyone who encounters the post count problem again please let me know. I'll be rebuilding the member data files in the next week or so, and then everyone's post counts will be accurate.
About allowing thread originators to edit the thread title, this is on my list. Shouldn't be too difficult.
