There has been some problems with topics ending up in blatently wrong forums. There is also the situation, where it is truely hard to determine what forum the topic should go it.
Topics can be copy moved to different forums, but this does result in a certain waste of server storage space, as we are then having duplicates.
Anyhow, this topic posting was inspired by AdminBrians message at the "Flaws in the Scripture" topic, of the "The Bible: Accuracy and Inerrancy" forum. The message was on how to start a new topic.
quote:
In the top right hand corner and the bottom left hand corner of the page, you will see two small white rectangles, one has 'Post New Topic' on it.
Click on that and there you go!
This is all good and fine, if you are intending the new topic for the same forum that that current page is in. But, if you intend the topic to go to a different forum, then something else must be done.
1) Go to a topic that is in the desired forum, and use the "Post New Topic" button, there.
or
2) Use the "Hop To" selector, found to the right of the "Post New Message" and "Post New Topic" buttons at the bottom of the page. Select a forum, and click on "Go". This will get you to the index page of that particular forum, which also contains at "Post New Topic" button.
Cheers,

A bump for Admin / Percy
I don't know how much work would be required, but would it be a good thing, that a forum choice be included in the process of starting a new topic?
Would this cut down on the number of topics being started in the wrong forum?
Cheers,
AM
