Rob and iceage two among a crowd
Not that I'm asking to be suspended myself, but there were several of us contributing to the abuse of the POTM. Any reason why Rob and iceage got singled out?

Re: On Rob's extended suspension
Well, I don't know whether this counts as a mitigating factor or not, but I will point out that Rob generally did much better in that thread than usual. There is only one post that I recall (it was directed to me) where he lapsed into irrelevant God-talk; for the most part he stayed somewhat on topic, and I actually found his posts readable and understandable (my disagreements with the contents notwithstanding).

Content deleted.
I'm almost 44 years old -- old enough to just roll my eyes and move on without making a big deal about stupid stuff.
Added by edit:
I will say, though, that if you are reading this, Rob, I hope you don't think I'm speaking on your behalf in this instance because I want "the hamster" back.

Re: Vashgun aka Highestevolvedwhiteguy
And the evidence just keeps mounting:
The electromagnetic healing theory is mine, and is based on my experience in Quantum Touch. It really works even when someone is asleep so it isn't a magical mind trick. Also, I can change the taste of wine and beer and take the carbonation out of coke. Even my skeptical science friend even admits its power.

Sure it is. We're pointing out that Vashgun is exhibiting behavior that looks like deliberate troll behavior (rather than honest ignorance, lunacy, or unfamiliarity with logic). This is the sort of thing that warrants moderator action. Where else would anyone point out that someone seems to be deliberately disruptive? Moose already warned us not to bring it up in the thread itself.
Edited by Chiroptera, : emphasize deliberate

I could tell you what I've read about evolution, the big-bang, super-universes, quantum foam, and all that stuff. Eventually you'd ask a question I can't answer, then I'd have to go look it up. Even If I had the time for that shit, in the end you'd ask a question science hasn't answered yet. So let's save time and skip ahead to "I don't know." -- jhuger

Heh. That ain't nothing. From the People - I /was/ a Christian thread:
Well I hope the best for you while you burn in hell. I prefer mild warmth personally.
And he's been as bad on other threads as well. Will someone remind me again why we suspended Rob?

Re: Question about Offensive Content
Personally, I can see an argument about removing inappropriate and offensive content of this sort completely (but not until I get home and have a chance of checking it out myself -- my curiousity is picqued): even if hidden, I suspect that the troll retains some satisfaction that people will still check out his handiwork despite the warnings and be offended. Stuff has been deleted before, if I recall correctly, and no one claimed censorship.
At any rate, I would have no objection to the complete removal of material of the type that is being described here. I wouldn't call it censorship. Maybe prudish (I haven't yet seen the offensive post yet -- people constantly walk by my open office door, so I'll have to wait a bit before I check it out), but that is up to those who determine the standards of this board.
I also, by the way, wouldn't have any objection to leaving it up, either. Hiding it for the sake of people using more or less public terminals seems to be a good idea in any case.
