this thread is currently called "Genesis Flood: Forgotten, Disproved, or Under a New Alias?"
when people see the words "genesis" and "flood" together, 99% are probably thinking the story of noah, found starting in genesis 6. that is not the topic of the thread, which is about "the deep" found in the first chapter of genesis, and is more properly regarding the so-called "gap theory" which states that there is a gap between genesis 1:1 and genesis 1:2, and that there was a prior creation which then destroyed by god between the two verses.
further, i would like to suggest that there is already a thread which encompasses this topic, started by yours-truly. my thread isn't strictly on the gap theory, but was originally posted to refute another idea, but in the process addresses all of the concerns raised by gap theorists. the primary difference being that it is a theological/linguistic thread, not a scientific one. whether this new thread develops any scientific discussion still remains to be seen, however.
And as admin nem mentions, brenna has mentioned previously that she doesn't need/want to be scolded for not using capitalization.
it's a bad habit the both of us have fallen into, but i don't think it's a moderat-able offense. it's just easier and faster to type like this, and less formal (in my opinion). granted, it looks kind of immature, but it's hard to start using the shift keys once you stop.
What other reaction can one expect from brenna aside from extreme aggravation?
Could she have expressed her anger better? Sure. Does her post demand a 12 hour suspension? No.
heh, well, since i'm one of her closest friends, i'll give my input here.
she is kind of an asshole on the board sometimes, and i'm pretty sure she knows it because i've told her so. the problem isn't that she's mean. she's actually a very sweet girl, one of the best sort of friends you could ever ask for. she doesn't take shit seriously here at all. the sort of language she got suspended for is the kinda stuff we throw back and forth in private conversation all the time -- i seriously doubt she's serious, or angry, or is saying things to be mean.
basically, i think she's just a little too laid back and doesn't watch what she says. i'm sure she'll correct me if i'm wrong. but i can't really argue against the suspension -- heck, i probably deserve to be suspended too :P
Just a hint: this is the right place to discuss moderation procedures and the fact that AdminBuzsaw can't understand that simply supports my contention that we should not try to hold Biblical Christians to the same standards as evolutionists.
jar, there were no creationists in the discussion that got brenna suspended, so the uneven standards point is kind of a non-sequitor.
and your ad-hominem against buzsaw is uncalled for. as an evilutionist you should know better :P
