Regarding the "morality & society" thread
I strongly disagree that it is off topic to discuss the existence of objective morality in that thread.
It is entirely relevant to the OP, which claims that societies do not determine what is moral, but that people "just know" what is moral.
In fact, I think that discussing objective vs. subjective moraily is EXACTLY on-topic.

Re: AdminBuzsaw's Suspends Buzsaw. Why?
Admin buzsaw,
I strongly disagree with your suspension of forum member Buzsaw.
It will only fuel his martyr complex.

PaulK, all I have to say to you is that it's your kind of caustic rant that hurts EvC more than just about anything else.
"Caustic rant?"
Hardly.
Yes, PaulK's post was highly critical of your behavior and very blunt, Buz, but it was not at all caustic, nor was it a rant.
I have been here a long time, Buz, and I don't think I have ever read a post by PaulK that I could describe as a "rant".
A "caustic rant" is something along these lines:
Jesus, Buzsaw, what the hell is wrong with you? You haven't learned a damn thing in years of people trying to get things through your thick, religion-addled skull of yours! When people try to help you get better, all you do is get pissy and whiny and play the "poor, picked on me" game. Why don't you just shut up, becasue you're clearly incapable of keeping your posts from being composed of complete and utter drivel!!
See, PaulK didn't say anything even remoltely like this to you, did he?
Neither did anybody else.

Buz hasn't corrected a single misunderstanding that I can recall.
He did with me once, but extremely reluctantly.
In a discussion about nutrition, he claimed that any burning sensation one experienced while consuming olive oil always indicated that the oil was rancid.
This is not true, as a peppery bite in the finish flavor of olive oil is a desireable characteristic in the oils from certain regions.
I know this to be the case because I am a professional taster and fairly expert on olive oil in specific.
I had to reference the hell out of my claims and beat him rather roughly about the head with my greater expertise quite a few times but he finally did concede.
But that's the only time I can recall.
Do I win a prize?
(Incidentally, I tried to find the exchange using the site's search engine, and it couldn't, no matter what search terms I used.)

moose
Moose, I understand that you had problems with Brenna posting lots of contentless comments in various threads.
I do not think I am known as someone who posts lots of contentless messages.
I'll thank you to not treat me as if I was Brenna.
Of course, that message of Hoot-mon's I was responding to was oh-so cogent, well-thought out and crucial to the topic...

I am finding the above cited to be highly reminiscent of the topic where I suspended both Crashfrog and Brennakimi
I already know that you were reminded of Brenna's many contentless posts by my single, uncharacteristic, one-off post. I said as much in my previous post here. I get it.
Did I give you any indication or reason to believe that I would continue this in that thread, especially given my history?
Perhaps I am being too sensitive, but I see absolutely no reason for me to take flak for a single brief comment just because you are irritated at the numerous contentless posts of other members.
I am not those other members.
AbE: Just saw your edit to the post in that thread. Thanks for that.
Edited by nator, : No reason given.

Just because someone is being mulishly thick-headed is no excuse for pointing it out.
Nuggin is easily bright enough to figure out a way to point out mulish thick-headedness without calling someone retarded.
It's less direct, but more fun to write.
