As someone who spends a lot of time reading and editing what others have written and truly appreciates proper capitalization, I find this a needless battle since this forum seems to be an informal arena.I find very large paragraphs (which I tend not to read) much more annoying than no capital letters.I think lack of style is only a problem when we are unable to comprehend the post. I haven't found that to be the problem with brennakimi or Arach or anyone's lack of capitalization.Isn't being able to understand the message more important than a perfect presentation?

Gasby asked a question concerning "lazy writing"After reading one of NewYorkCityBoy's posts a thought hit me. Is this the way people are typing when they send text messages?Since I don't do texting, it wasn't the first thought on my mind.The next question would be do we want to discourage the "texting" style of typing on this board?

It might work fine on a mobile phone where (I think) the responses are propbably more one-liners, but on a debate board where we type paragraphs I don't think it is appropriate.Too difficult to read, especially if you're not someone who uses text messaging.

With internet connection on mobile phones I wondered if some members interact through their phones and not at a full size keyboard.You don't type your long posts on a PDA do you? So our familiar quote boxes aren't possible, but all the letters of the alphabet are available and basic punctuation.Good to know.

It could be worse, people could be writing in ?? speek.Couldn't figure out the one word.I definitely hope no one starts that "style" of writing.
