Due to numerous forum violations, specifically 2,3,4,5 AND 6, and what I took to be an out and out dare http://EvC Forum: Evolution=Bad Science Fiction (lack of transitionals)
laserlover has been suspended.
As always, he can get his posting priviledges reinstated by mailing Percy at Admin@.
Anyone wondering why this action has been taken are welcome to read ll's thread http://EvC Forum: Evolution=Bad Science Fiction (lack of transitionals) .
Any responses regarding my action can be posted here.

This is rare for me, but I agree with this suspension. It seems that Laser's only purpose was to get under people's skin, no matter what it took. He was just waiting for someone to speak harshly to him in order to justify his rants. Laser doesn't want to discuss science, he just wants to insult people.

I'm not so sure that all he/she wanted to do was fling insults. I think the whole raison d'etre was to get suspended and then claim bias on this site. There have been quite a few examples of late. I sound like a conspiracy theorist
This makes me wonder about suspensions in these circumstances. I agree that laserlover had done enough to get suspended thirty times over and I agree with the suspension. Should it have been done earlier? I'm not saying or suggesting that it should, I'm just asking.
The problem in this case is that this site is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't.
I don't know if this is the right place to make this suggestion, but would it be possible in a case like this to call upon a Christian moderator to step in early? Now, I'm not for a minute casting aspersions on non-Christian admins, but I feel that trolls like this would have less of a "case" to claim bias to their cronies.
We shouldn't have to bend over backwards to accommodate people like this, allowing multiple transgressions before suspension for Creationists, but I do understand the reason for it.
Am I making any sense here or just warbling happily?

Wow, I know I'm a handful, and I never agreed to my suspensions (I guess, who would) but I never out-n-out "dared" any monitors too...you're probably gonna' get struck by lightening or something.

As usual, when a person is unable to admit defeat on a particular argument they often turn to outrages egotism (claims of how much money he makes, his big IQ, his vast education, the many languages he can speak, etc..).
They then suppress all future arguments and claim victory without evidence, and often resort to off-topic subjects every chance they get (constant posts about atheism, socialism, communism, marxism, "the left", radicalism, etc.. that have nothing to do with the topic).
To assess this I tried to act as kind and good willed as I could towards him in order to lower the shield he was putting up. Obviously it failed as he simply ignored my post, doing a copy/paste about another topic from the icr website.
What's ironic is he was so enthralled with defending his fundamentalist Christian perspective that he was willing to forgo several of its moral values (ex: constantly calling others names, such as "whore" in post 54). Such extremism is very dangerous indeed.
I guess "Denial ain't just a river in Egypt..." (Stuart Smalley)
Just my 10 cents.

That just wouldn't work
since his (or her) response to any Christian input was simply that we were lying and atheists.
I think all that can be done with a troll is to have a designated responder that simply answers posts while the rest of us go ahead with the discussion. We could all take turns as designated responder so that only one has to deal with the troll and no one has to have two trolls in a row.

But Rocket hun, you're a FUNNY troll...laser deliberately pushed the issue in quite a nasty way.
I agree with Trix that he was looking for a way to be a martyr to his cause. Yes, I AM damned if I do and damned if I don't.
I don't like to suspend, I'd rather work it out and help the poster remain on the board. It seems that everytime I've attempted this lately I've been burned.

I'd like to agree with you Trixie but I doubt it would have mattered.
If you note in post 88, jar mentions that he is a Christian and talks a little about himself to dispel laserlover's stereotyping.
Then in message 91, laserlover replies with, "First Off you are an atheist, that I am sure..." So I don't think it would even matter. Laserlover was determined to claim he knew what other's believed and if they weren't on his side they must be an atheist.
But, hey, maybe you're right and it would have made a difference, but given his record I think he would have just lied to his cronies and claimed it was an atheist mod. He doesn't seem to have problems with acting immorally.
*edit* Wanted to say that I don't know the sex, male or female, of hardly anyone in this convo so don't take it personally if I am wrong. Thanks.

Re: That just wouldn't work
Razd has the answer for trolls...ignore them...they look for ANY response...if they don't get any they go away...I've seen it work on a troll that had 2 dozen different screen names..it might take a while to figure out it's a troll, and everybody has to work as a team to not respond...but on the forum I was on Razd had the only solution that worked..."don't respond". Creationists and Evolutionists pulled together and got rid of it.

Wow.
I am in shock as to how laser could do something like that. If you read this laser, please know that stuff like that makes people not listen to us. I guess you're done for now on this forum, but if you ever meet an evolutionist in real life, please be respectful. I know several evos in real life, and they are just misinformed, not maliciuos.
To the evolutionists on this forum, on behalf of every creationist who isn't like that, I'm really sorry about this whole mess

Don't feel sorry JT. We know the difference between a creationist willing to argue about evidence and a blowhard who feels the need to call other people names. I wouldn't be surprised if laserlover were a 13 year old kid looking for attention.

YOU, never suspended me. I really don't think it's Mooses fault...it's a lot to keep tabs on...I can see how I would be perceived as a troll...it's a rare occasion where a new poster has a couple of hundred important things to say in a few days (I always dress mine in humor which adds to the confusion), it's the same with RAZD...he and I have been making evo arguments for at least two years already, we've seen it all...it's understandable that you guys wouldn't know we have a LOT of prior experience when we show up as newbies.
