Looking at message 259 again:

Wow - 7 replys messages to a 6 line message.

For what it's worth, excessive quoting also bugs me, but I seem to be in the minority there. I really hate seeing "line of quote", "line of reply" type messages. I also dislike seeing entire messages quoted, especially if the message is on the same page.

By the way, I used to use "The Pointy Haired Boss" as my avatar. I think I'm more in touch with the "Zippy the Pinhead" variety of cluelessness (which may not quite be the right word for "Zippyness".

BTW. I agree about excessive quoting. I hate posts which give 10 separate quotes from a previous post and reply to each one with a brief on-liner. But I don't think we need a guideline about it; it is a reasonable variation of style.
