Another answer , mine, would be that these low mts only appeared after the flood as a part of the great upheavel that occured a few centuries after the flood.
The whole backbone of North america exploded and crumpled and from this came many of the mts there.
Can you post a link to further information on this, please?

So the shells rise with the water because certain organisims can only live so deep in the water, and then when the water goes down they are left stranded on the mountain.
The 'shells' can rise with the water, but they can't descend with the water.
Why is that?
Can they only swim up?

Well it's just like when it rains. The ground absorbes it.
The ground doesn't just absorb water.
If the ground just absorbed water then after only a few heavy rainstorms the whole world would be covered in mud.
Instead the excess water normally flows through the ground and into the rivers and eventually the sea.
But if the whole planet was flooded then it couldn't flow anywhere.
Possessor writes:
And probaly made some lakes and rivers biger and even made some new ones.
There weren't any lakes or rivers: the whole planet was covered in water.

Dr. A writes:
I think he's talking about what would happen at the end of the flood when the waters receeded.
He said that the ground absorbed the water.
But when told that the ground doesn't just absorb water he claimed it went into the rivers.
I am hoping he will see that water can't flow into the rivers when the planet is flooded because the rivers would be 'full'.
Dr. A writes:
Though I'm not sure he's thought it through very carefully.
Maybe he will, if encouraged.
