Q, count me as a taxonomist. The rule of priority demands that an earlier name would be preferred over later names.
Homo troglodytes is older. Methinks it was Big L (Linnaeus) who did it. He's a (respectable) creationist so the cre guys wouldn't mind using his opinion, wouldn't they?
Where can I find this paper on how many human species? The journal's name was... Homo? never heard of it, is it new?
[Currently looking for a postgrad opportunity, preferably in taxonomy, that comes with decent scholarship funds
