Hey I wouldn't feel bad since you obviously had the wherewithal to question the things that had been told you and bring them out in open discussion. This shows some level of sceptism and that is always good to have.

The Aliens Did It
Nexus:
This friend's theory simply is the old, 1960's acid-rap syndrome revisited. When someone with an overactive imagination and limited data gets a little off-whack and seratonin-challenged, he babbles endlessly about how the aliens are responsible for Stonehenge, the Pyramids, Nazca Lines, Human Origins, blah, blah, blah.
Where your friend is coming from regarding human evolution via alien transport is expansively discussed currently by nutcases at many sites you may link by entering the words "Niburu", "Nephilim", "Ananakim", "Annanakim", "Annunakim", "Sirus", or one particular Subsaharan African tribe whose name escapes me for the moment, [edit: "Dogon"] into your MSN or Google search engine.
Cruise some of the sites if for no other reasons than to have a good laugh, and to arm yourself with some in-depth crappola with which to dazzle your delusional friend.
Peace.

The Dogon Tribe has similar beliefs regarding ancient alien visitors and their interaction with prehistoric man. This link http://home.worldonline.nl/~gibbon/dogon.htm is a research paper with some opinions and links to the following information:

there is a theory that millions of years ago mars had life...suggesting that we may be the descendants from that life.
About life in mars millions of years ago-who knows? But if there was and we descended from them I have to wonder what type of shuttle did they use to get here and how the hell did they adopt so quickly to our planets conditions
Nexus writes:
i beleive there are otehr planets out there which we could live and breath on, perhaps not very close to earth.
Anyone in particular supported by some evidence or this is simply what you hope to be true

and maybe very long ago before recorded history, there were humans, more intelligent and technologically advanced then we are now. i beleive it says in the bible "he shot lightning in a straight line at the golden calf and melted it" now being that the calf is gold, the electricity should have just ran through it and left it pure...also, lightning doesn't go in a straight line...what's teh only form of light that goes in a straight line and can melt metals??
I dont exactly get what one thing here has to do with the other. More intelligent yes more technologically advanced no. our technology is the reult of those past cientist who were definitely smarter than us. I mean they had to prove their theories with no technology whatsoever. thats tough. its double tough.
Remember that moses wrote it down as if it were lightning beause that is what it looked like to him but God could of have used some other form of heat and energy to melt the calf and turn it into powder.

Nexus and jazzlover
Did you guys miss the bible verse I quoted showing that it was moses
And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt [it] in the fire, and ground [it] to powder, and strawed [it] upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink [of it].
No laser no magic just humans again doing silly human things.
I am curious as to what method he used to grind it to a powder but that is another topic.

Here is a curious question. Where in the desert did they find the fuel to produce a 2400F.degree temperature to melt a large [I assume] gold calf to ashes? Does gold become ash without going through its boiling point of 3080 F?Does gold become ash? or even powder?

Does gold become ash? or even powder?
This old chemist says no, and also no. Gold is terribly difficult to oxidise, and is extremely malleable - it'll make gold leaf, but powder is probably quite a trick.

Jeez how can the bible be wrong about that simple a thing? God must have intervened and changed the laws of physics in order to allow this to happen.Otherwise our faith is sorrily tested.THATS IT! He is testing our faith! Praise God!

the holy book is silly i tell you.
so many holy books...all saying different stuff.
who's right??
we all shun eachother's 'fake' 'god(s)'
i guess a god is real as long as their are beleivers...
so to eliminate all beleifs and scriptures and beleivers...do you kill the god??
perhaps we don't need god to live, for maybe he needs us to live.
do the trees talk when no one is listening??
does the tree make a sound if no one's around??
damn this horribly unexplainable existance, damnit!!
Lasers i tell you. lasers!!

LOL! It is good to see a sense of humour is not absent from your life. Some people take themselves too seriously and I guess it kills the kid inside.

Here is a more interesting question. How did moses divide the red sea? and not only that how could the land below be dry? The answer is simple. It was gods power through moses. Dont you get it? were are talking about a God that lives in another dimension and is noyt subject to our physical laws. he creaated the physical laws so he can do what ever he wants with them. dont you know that a lawyer is the person most capable of bending the law? ths is because he knows better than everybody else.
Lets make the powder-ash thing simple for you to understand. Whatever the reamins were the isrAELITES HAD TO DIRNK IT IN WATER. It could of have been powder, ashes, iced tea ,kool aid, chocolate etc. the point is that whatever it was they had to drink it
