Re: If you were God, what kind of God would you be?
What kind of leprechaun would you be if you could be a leprechaun?
I would be a wish granting leprechaun. I would grant wishes in return for protection and favors. John, you see how this answer looks? This is what your question looks like to an atheist. Its hard to give you a serious answer that does not look facetious.
To answer your question. I dont know. There is so much knowledge I dont have about the universe and possible creations that I have no possible way of knowing what I would do. Unfortunately, my view of reality(along with every other living being) is entirely based on time and causation. I don't know how any action would take place if time and causation were not in place, so I cant even begin to say what I would do as God.
I think the problem is most people attribute human characteristics to God(He exists within time for instance like humans, even though time is a dimension of the universe)

Re: If you were God, what kind of God would you be?
What unbelievers are really saying is that they are UNWILLING to seriously consider what it would be like to be God because they don't want there to be a God, and they don't want to look foolish trying to explain how they could be a better God than the ONE revealed in the Bible. I fully understand that for them "no God is a reality,"
No, what we are saying is that we are unable to seriously consider what it would be like to be God because we cant comprehend the mind of a omnipotent being when given a potentially infinite number of things to do. Now, if you want to point towards specific situations(maybe Biblical ones?) and ask us what we would do in them if we had infinite power, I believe we atheists could explain our actions. Your question was just so vague it is impossible to even conceive on an answer. Its simply not possible for humans to think outside of the context of time and space.
Edit: To add, you never said you were talking about the Christian God either. If you want to know how we would rule the universe differently than the Christian God I would be glad to answer that.

Re: If you were God, what kind of God would you be?
Mike, now you have gone completely off topic and started preaching. If you want to create another topic about what Jesus or God did to save us, please do so. If you want us to tell you how we would behave if we were in situations similar to the Christian God, please do so. Remember, most of us don't think of a god solely in Christian terms, so your original question simply had us acting as an omnipotent being. We need some context to answer it.

Re: If you were God, what kind of God would you be?
People study the scriptures, and meditate on it, to find out what it means. Afterall, you are logical - you will know that the Jewish writers aren't going to write a bad report on God. They believed, and you don't - yet you think you have the correct meaning?
You are ignoring the context. The Jewish writers viewed other races as inferior and subhuman. Whole sale genocide of animals was not a problem for them. Same with views towards women and slavery. None of these things were problems for the writers. It is only in the modern context where we view all races as human and women as more than property that people start taking issues with Biblical statements.

i thought we were already gods? Isnt that what A&E wanted, to become more like God. And isnt that what eating of the tree made them? More like God!
We are self governed and independent, we make our own rules and live by our own standards. You only need to look at the state of our world and societies and you can clearly see the types of gods we have become.
"The state of our world and societies" Do you mean the ever rising Standard of living, basic liberties and life expectancy of people around the world? I would say we are not doing that badly and will continue to improve into the future. We are gods of improvement. Over the long run, we take existing systems and make them better.

Scroll down to table four, the worst countries in the world are still making three times as much money(adjusted for inflation) as they were 190 years ago. That means three times as much food, water and medical care as they could previously afford(Plus all three of those things have lowered in price and improved in quality). If there is a god, who is to say that one day we won't surpass him?
