Velocity to me is the speed the bullet exits the barrel of my gun.
Velocity is a vector, by definition it has a magnitude and direction. When you say the bullet leaves the barrel at 200 fps (or whatever is a reasonable speed) you're only giving the magnitude of the velocity vector.

Speed is what ever the rate is you are whatever is traveling.
This is actually correct.

It is gonna be hard to get used to thinking I am accelerating when I deploy that chute though.
You are experiencing a negative acceleration, or more accurately an acceleration opposite to the direction of your motion (positive or negative really depends on how you've set up the coordinate system).

After 150 years and the best equiptment available man can not produce life in the best of conditions.
Yes we're not there yet. But your arguement that because we haven't done it yet therefore it is impossible doesn't hold up. It is equivalent to saying that because man did not travel to the moon in 1492 that it is impossible

Your disagreement does nothing to change reality, neither does your ignorance. You are easily proven wrong on this matter. Put water in a bucket, attach a rope to the handle and spin the bucket by the rope in a circle, if you go fast enough the water will stay in the bucket. Why? because the water is accerating away from the center of rotation even when the bucket is rotating at a constant speed. This is grade school physics, have you not heard of centripedal force?

It is a scientific fact non life does not produce life, after 150 years of trying with the best equiptment man has not been able to produce life.
