Hi Briterican,it's not surprising that Pat Robertson and his ilk say these things. It's an inevitable consequence of taking the magical world of the old testament seriously.It's a lesson, if we needed one, of how mad it is to have a world view that was developed by a bronze age culture and has not been updated since.And also a reminder of the true nature of the God shown in the old testament - vengeful and, retributive, holding people responsible for the sins of others. The God Robertson believes in is indeed consistent with this God.And to think that this man ran for political office - what a scary thought.
