Thanks for the light-hearted reply and "have a nice day" wishes.
Here are some people who WON'T be having a nice day: Over two million Iraqi refugees are poor or homeless because of the ILLEGAL and IMMORAL US invasion. Tens (hundreds?) of thousands of Iraqis live with war related injuries. For the next couple of CENTURIES, Tens (hundreds?) of thousands of Iraqis will develop cancer or have birth defects due to depleted uranium weapons used by US forces. Over a million innocent Iraqis including women and childen are DEAD, . . . and counting. Howard Zinn (August 24, 1922 — January 27, 2010) recently died. He was an American historian, author, activist, playwright, intellectual and Professor. But mostly he was known for his the civil rights, civil liberties and anti-war movements. One item that stuck with me was a person ascribing that Zinn "heard the screams of other people". Apothecus, although you only voted for Bush Jr. once, do YOU ever hear the screams your vote caused? Have a nice day.

None of which, of course, were caused by Saddam...... Saddam would have caused little harm WITHOUT the ACTIVE support of the USA. It was American help which lifted him to position in Iraq. Even after America gave Saddam the weapons to gas the Kurds, even after world outcry over these atrocities, America turned around and gave him another billion dollars of military/training aid. Take a very long look at the HAPPY people shaking hands in this picture and note who they are: WordPress.com Or . . . you can continue to live in your delusion that Saddam acted entirely alone.

Your message #40 tried to deflect/marginalize the blame from American's illegal and immoral invasion by implying Saddam was ultimately responsible for all/most/equal of the deaths.
When I called you on it (message #42), you didn't contest my facts. By not contesting any of my facts, you thus, indirectly admitted that America is indeed MOSTLY to blame (message #44). Finally, when faced with FULLY losing the argument, you shamelessly changed the topic to my place of residence.
I get it. You are a disgruntled American. You are a hipster. We all get that. Apparently, you don't get IT at all. Edited by dronester, : completed hooah quote

With ENTHUSIASTIC American support/training/materials, Saddam gassed 1000s of Kurds.
(take another look at smiling Rumsfeld):WordPress.com The American illegal and immoral Iraqi invasion has caused over 1,000,000 murdered civilians. And climbing. Now, who is worse: 1. Saddam - 1000s murdered (with US support) or 2. Bush Jr. 1,000,000s murdered? Unless you are as good in math as you are in ethics, you should pick #2. If #2, why are you giving me grief for openly stating my contempt for war criminals?
You take any opportunity you can to bash the U.S. And you take any opportunity you can to deflect the USA's responsibility to its 1,000,000s victims. Why? Working indirectly in the social services field, I can think of a few possibilities, but I want from your mouth. Really, why?

Hey Apothecus,
I am off-topic with this, so unless you want to open another thread, it will be my last post in this thread. I will respect the OP hooah212002's message #50 regarding off topic messages. Your messages are confusing me. It started with:
And I'll be honest: he [Bush Jr.] wasn't that bad of a guy After me posting Bush Jr. crimeS and atrocitieS that CONTINUE to this day, you seemed to have changed your mind somewhat. Your message #41 was great. It combined elements of personal open honesty, soul-searching and bravery (quite rare on internet forums). You also wrote of Bush Jr.; "...terrible, terrible crimes, committed..." . Your message of 'enlightenment' was well worth me being called a 'judgemental arse'. It seemed you have adjusted your position on Bush Jr.. (Maybe, just maybe, there was hope for mankind.) Then you wrote in message # 66:
Not really, but thanks for putting words in my mouth. Ugh, how disappointing. But then you conclude with:
As far as I'm concerned, it's a moot point: we agree in this respect, if not with the same intensity. It seems you are contradictary. You will need to explain how a war criminal who committed 'terrible, terrible crimes' can be 'not that bad of a guy'. To Hyroglyphx and hooah212002. Yes, you are both absolutely correct, I have a virulent hatred for Bush Jr. & Co. as I do for ALL war criminals. They lied a nation to war and have caused, and CONTINUES to cause, widespread oppression, torture, and death. Over a MILLION civilians including women and children murdered. Bush & Obama policies WILL cause MORE future "terrorist" acts against the USA. Perhaps you, a family member, or friend will be targeted. And yet it is mind-boggling to me that you think my hating Bush Jr. is irrational/overboard. My question remains, why don't you/all people hate war criminals as much as I? Sincerely,d

What's happening Oni,
Since hooah212002 has apparently abandoned this thread..., I will respond.
hooah212002 writes: Your disdain for U.S. ways is similar to that of the same people we are blaming for flying planes into the Twin Towers. I noted this BS line too. IF hooah212002 responds, he will likely dick around for a dozen posts and then when he's fully out of vapid responses, he will suddenly declare he never specifically meant it the way he wrote it and all along he is "pretty much agreeing" with you. I would like to note however: as a SUPPOSED Bush Jr. OPPONENT, hooah212002 never did condemn Apothecus' statement:
Apothecus writes: And I'll be honest: he [Bush Jr.] wasn't that bad of a guy Neither did Hyroglyphx. Check out Rahvin's post #99 in "WooHoo! More idiots running the gub'ment" about Hyroglyphx, and the term "mindless middle". I think it could be applied to hooah212002 too. Rahvin is spot on. I see your followup message #69, I will respond tomorrow, cheerio,d

Bush Jr., the man, is an alcoholic, a cocaine addict, AWOL soldier, repeated failed businessman, and has an IQ that is measured as mildly mentally retarded.
Bush Jr. writes: "There's an old saying in Tennessee I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee that says, fool me once, shame on shame on you. Fool me you can't get fooled again." "I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family." "Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?" I can sure see why you in particular would want to hang out with this guy. Mindless Middle.

Hey Oni,
I read and then re-read yours and Stragglers posts. I think I get what you are warning. But unless I pre-qualify the word "America" or even "American" everytime, I am unsure if there is a better remedy. I agree with both you and Straggler that context USUALLY helps. But I would be grateful if you or Straggler can make a better specific suggestion. Part of the "fun" in participating in these forums is it strengthens your critical thinking/writing skills. Hopefully, with assistance, I can do better next time. d

Hi Apothecus,
I didn't realize you sent a PM. How do I receive those? Thanks for the clarification. Your light-hearted manner in your messages prevented me from reading your posts correctly. I apologize for that. However, since we ARE talking about war criminals (thus, Godwin rules are then cancelled), if I wrote: "And I'll be honest: he [Adolph Hitler] wasn't that bad of a guy" It's not a "middle of the road" expression, do you agree? Do you think some one might respond angrily? Might they even respond if it wasn't part of the OP's thread? Bush Jr., the war criminal, has done so much evil in this world, that CONTINUES to this day, I just couldn't let your words slide. I am keen on quotes. I'll leave you with this one: ‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’ I prefer not to come across as a 'judgemental arse', but if we want the world to be a better place, we all need to make a stand somewhere, sometime. Have a good day. Sincerely.

Hyroglyphx writes: I think you have lost some objectivity on the subject because of your virulent hatred for Bush & Co. The reality of the situation is that truth concerning the matter usually lies somewhere in between your position and a diehard Bush fanatic. Mindless Middle.

Hey Hey Oni (and Straggler),
Thanks for the replies. At work, I just wrote a short instructional summary for operating video equipment. It is an extremely difficult task to write directions that need to be very brief and very specific. Then watching SOME people fail to follow the explicit directions shows just how nearly impossible the task seems to be. Writing is a challenge. At least for me. So I happily accept constructive criticisms. Thanks! Now, just as some people couldn't follow written directions no matter how well written, some, like perhaps Buzz, will see me as a traitor to my country no matter how careful or how much I pre-qualify my terms. And then others . . .
Some of the mindless middle folk would rather not have an opinon at all, and see your critical analysis of US policy as not worth the effort. Nor do they hold such contempt for the way business is conducted, so here again they don't have an opinion. If they were consistently quiet, I would understand it more. But in this case people, like hooah212002 and Hyro, don't SHOW anywheres near the emotion/venom towards war criminals (who murder millions of women and children like Bush Jr has), as hooah212002 and Hyro does toward me. ("if I don't like war criminals murdering millions of women and children, then why don't I move". WTF? How mentally-slow, ass-backwards is that?)
What I find amusing is that while agreeing with you, they also call you anti-American - that's weird...? Mentally-slow, ass-backwards. There is a quote from an early 1900s US president (Roosevelt? I tried to find but failed) that goes sorta like:
president??? writes: Every citizen should criticise the US government/president, indeed, it is their patriotic duty. I wish my fellow Americans practiced this. Perhaps then, I would not need to be so "anti-American". Edited by dronester, : revised Apothecus to President mistake??? Edited by dronester, : No reason given. Edited by dronester, : No reason given.

To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. "Roosevelt in the Kansas City Star", 149May 7, 1918 Thanks Theodoric. I think that's twice you found a quoted item for me. I owe ya! I see Hyro and hooah didn't comment about this specific quote about what's truly "anti-American". Big surprise eh? Edited by dronester, : spelling
