Re: Northeast Minnesota, USA
Montreal, Quebec. Canada.

Fairly close to North-east USA border. So if any meetings would be set up in that region I would definitely be there.

True North
No more than 1 message per member, so make it a long one.

I'll relate a conversation that took place on another forum:

(I had just mentioned Tim Hortons.)
Other Poster: Are you from Canada?
Me: Yes.
Other Poster: Are you from a province that's easy to draw?
Me: Yes, it's a rectangle.
Other Poster: Are you from the biggest city in the province?
Me: No, the other one.
Other Poster: Are you from the south side of the creek?
Me: No, the north.
Other Poster: Good, then you're not my next-door neighbour.

Denver, Colorado
I live in Denver, Colorado. Been here all my life and likely will stay. Its a nice city, though the population of the metropolitan area has tripled in thirty years.

I can scarcely believe I didn't see this before. Snyder, Scurry County, Texas. Fifty miles from Anglagard, in fact. And it's 87F with 35 mph wind today! Ah, Spring!!

Although I lived in Connecticut for most of my tenure at EvC, for the past two years I have lived in the village of Dolgeville, NY, population ~2,000.

Dolgeville was named for Alfred Dolge, that rare creature: an enlightened 19th century humanitarian industrialist who attempted to apply his social ideals to his employee community.

He introduced a form of social security: disability insurance, pensions and profit-sharing for his employees, as well as programs to promote physical fitness and education. He brought rail service and electricity to the community.

The town was renamed Dolgeville (nee Green's Bridge) by the acclaim and petition of the residents.

He was, unsurprisingly, bankrupted by the connivance of bankers and businessmen in the area who objected to his philosophy. He later achieved considerable financial success in California.

He was a great man. We have not often seen his like.

And, yes, that history was the primary reason I chose to move here--that, and Dolgeville's location as a gateway to the southern Adirondacks.

Unfortunately, most of the current residents would not now offer acclaim: they'd probably lynch the man. Oh well. Ironically, the location of Green's Bridge still boasts a bridge--where a millionaire, who bought one of Dolge's original mills, refuses community access to it.

So, I vocally differ but I'm a readily shrugged off downstater.

But my neighbors are good, kind, narrow-minded people in that infuriating way only small town folks can be.

Upstate NY, about 100 miles from NYC. Grew up in a little down where they named a music festival after, and now live in the town where they held the 25th anniversary festival for it.

Where do I live?
This is a very old thread, recently revived.

I live in the Pretoria suburb called Montana Park, around 70 Km NNE of Oliver Tambo Airport. That international airport is around 20 kilometres east of the Johannesburg city centre.

In South Africa. Do creationists even do know that South Africa is not in the USA?

Update
Update on mine. Since last I posted, I have moved.

I've lived in New York for three years now. 1 year in Rockaway, 2 years in Elmhurst, Queens, and currently moving to Astoria, Queens.

I hope to one day move into the city. When I can afford it.

I know it's only one post per person so, sorry.

update
I have moved since my last post on this. My wife took a new job so we moved back to the area we used to live. We still live in a very rural area but are closer to a city than before.

Didn't move far.
Approximately 15 miles east of Superior, WI, which is right across the harbor from Duluth, MN.
I expect to live here until I die, which hopefully is 35+ years away.

It's a beautiful sunny day here just about 3/4 km south of YYJ the Victoria airport, which is near Sidney which is just north of Victoria British Columbia on Vancouver Island. I grew up in Alberta and call Medicine Hat my home town. I lived in both Montreal and Toronto before moving to out here to warmer climes.

He has told you, O man, what is good ; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God.
