Eastern Nevada
I moved from Denver, CO to desolate Eastern Nevada four years ago for a job. Surprisingly, I'm still here and loving it.

Way up north
I live in Oulu, Finland. Apparently the namesakes of both my city and country are found in NE Minnesota.

Birmingham, England
I live in Birmingham, England's second largest city after London (though that's a close run thing with Manchester, and the size difference with London is big).

Birmingham was pretty small and insignificant, until about 240 years ago, when it exploded to life as the heart of the Industrial Revolution. It's now a post-industrial city, still in the process of reinventing itself as a more mixed economy.

And for those of you from other countries, it is generally known for having England's most mocked regional accent ;-)

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Re: Way up north
There is a Finland in NE Minnesota, but Oulu is in NW Wisconsin. It is about 20 miles from my house. It is known around the area primarily for Oulu Glass.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

You should hear how the people in our Birmingham talk.

I live on the Illinois side of the Mississippi due east of St. Louis. But you gotta keep going, its east of East St. Louis.

Re: Northeast Minnesota, USA
England, in the Home Counties, 30 miles north of London.

In north Hertfordshire, near to the Bedfordshire border.
