Not really. When we say a species is extinct, what we mean is something like, "I'm afraid we can't find any living specimens." There's no arrogance. More often than not, we sincerely wish we
could find a living specimen. Every evolutionist on earth would be tickled pink over the discovery of a living dinosaur.
