Hi Faith.
This whole thread has been fascinating, to say the least. I have one minor quibble with this:

I'm sure this has not escaped the attention of most of the followers of this thread, but surely you agree that your friends and family are already currently being, as you say, "forced" to help you, yes? They're stolen from (as you've repeatedly described it) in order to "help you", correct? Perhaps the cognitive dissonance in this particular situation results from the degree of dissociation between the "givers" and the "taker". Does the absence of the exchange of actual monetary notes from the hands of your friends and family to your hands, make it different in your mind, somehow? I'm not intending to add one more body to the dogpile, but just curious. Again, fascinating...  Have a good one, Faith. If I'm shown to be wrong or shown a new way to look at something it intrigues me. I don't understand how others can't. This is the understanding which comes with being an open minded individual. Some, like you, it seems, or like me (if I may be so bold), have it. Others ... do not.  Have a good one. Hey Faith. Not sure if you've totally fled the scene but...
I'm just curious if there is a lesser evil of the two: accepting assistance from your family via government taxation and redistribution to the less fortunate (as you seem to be), or directly, from your family's hands to yours. This is a sincere question, because in this quote in Message 495 you say ...

But then there is this reply to a comment I made in Message 509:
