The "Liberal" Media

Here's some raw footage from a recent demonstration in front of Congress. You probably heard there were racist expressions from the crowd, right? The first Tea Party in Washington was enormous but you missed that coverage, didn't you? And at that same time there were big tea parties elsewhere in the country, a very big one in L.A. for instance, but I didn't track down pictures of that one. Did you watch the you tube link? What was called racism by the media was clearly not when you see the video.

I certainly believe it's definitive of the supposed "spitting" accusation against a man who was just yelling "kill the bill" and the assemblyman just walked too close to him.

There is no "undercurrent" of racism among the objectors to this administration. There is no doubt SOME racism, but I haven't personally seen any (not that I get out much) and I see none on the conservative blogs. I think it is mostly imagined, as seems to be coming out on this thread. I don't see even the strangest of the signs as racist, over the top in other ways maybe, but not racist.

Couldn't hear much of anything first few times, then finally made out "traitor." Same thing next two times. Definitely a long "a" sound.So far the "racist" incidents are so strangely hidden from the cameras, either hallucinated in sounds where it doesn't exist or read into signs that are a bit extreme but not racist. You'd think if it actually existed it would be recorded somewhere.I have no idea what it means that some conservatives denounced racism at the events if there is no evidence that there ever was any racism. Perhaps they believed what they were falsely told; perhaps they are saying generically that IF there is any they denounce it. Calling him a Muslim is not racist. I only see a few that look clearly racist to me and mostly they are just plays on words and jokes. I also don't see any indicators to tell me where some of these photos were taken. How do I know they were even at a Tea Party event?The video at the congress covered the crowd from a pretty good angle and there were no signs of any such thing. Nobody screamed anything like that. It was on a couple of signs. The point would be of course that Obama denies his Muslim background and claims to be a Christian and that he's lying. There's nothing racist about it.

1) I was explaining the thinking behind the sign to show that it isn't racist.2) There is plenty of evidence that he grew up in a Muslim community and practiced Islam as a child.3) HOW MUCH of a Muslim isn't the point; the point is that he denies ANY Muslim background at all, but there's plenty of evidence for it.4) How it affects his thinking now I have no idea. I was just translating the sign for the racial accusers here.

Look at the pictures. That's no "thousand-strong." You've bought the media bias I'm talking about.

Obama isn't a practicing Muslim but he did grow up with a lot of Muslim influence in his family and he did go to a Muslim school for a while as a child. That's no problem in itself except that he has seemed to want to deny ANY such Muslim background at all in some contexts. But then you can find him talking about it on some You Tube videos if you go look, not that he IS a Muslim but that he certainly had a Muslim family and experience in a Muslim community in Kenya. You can also find him speaking Arabic and quoting Muslim sayings with obvious personal experience of their milieu.Daniel Pipes, a columnist I suppose is hated here, has a column in which he documents Obama's Muslim connections:Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood :: Daniel PipesI don't know about bias in the sign.
