Re: Who is the intelligent designer?
All I want to know is, was I created as intelligent as I am today or did I evolve from an ape? If I can get an answer to that question I will know who to give thanks,God or mother earth.

You didn't evolve. Individuals don't evolve. Populations evolve.

Re: Who is the intelligent designer?
...did I evolve from an ape? You still are an ape, dear. Homo sapiens is an ape.

Re: Who is the intelligent designer?
All I want to know is, was I created as intelligent as I am today or did I evolve from an ape? You were born, more ignorant than you are today, about as intelligent as you will ever be. But that is just you. Humans evolved from something that had not yet evolved into Apes, and we are still Apes today.
If I can get an answer to that question I will know who to give thanks,God or mother earth. You can still give thanks to GOD, unless of course you created some little limited God. The two issues are totally unrelated. Evolution is nothing but "How God Dun it". In the words of the Clergy Project letter, signed by over 11,000 US Christian Clergy:
quote: We believe that the theory of evolution is a foundational scientific truth, one that has stood up to rigorous scrutiny and upon which much of human knowledge and achievement rests. To reject this truth or to treat it as “one theory among others” is to deliberately embrace scientific ignorance and transmit such ignorance to our children. We believe that among God’s good gifts are human minds capable of critical thought and that the failure to fully employ this gift is a rejection of the will of our Creator. To argue that God’s loving plan of salvation for humanity precludes the full employment of the God-given faculty of reason is to attempt to limit God, an act of hubris.

Can't see the woods for the ufo's.
I'm brand new here and have only had time for a quick look around, so please forgive me if this topic has been proposed before. It's something I've wanted to ask for quite some time now. If an initial intelligent designer is posited as the reason for the biodiversity we see today, does that intelligent designer still exist? If not, what happened to it? If so, is it still designing? If the latter of these two possibilities is the case, then why do we not see radically new body plans appearing currently? Just taking animals as an example, we see a very limited number of basic body plans. If the designer still exists and is still designing, why don't we see much departure from these. As an example, all winged creatures have either six or two limbs in addition to their wings. There are no flying myriapods or quadrupeds. Why not? If one posits the existence of a designer, what constrains that designer from suddenly bringing such radically different forms into existence? Have you forgotten that the earth was created in six days and from then on we have been evolving. The design of the human race is forever changing and not always for the better. You are just looking in the wrong place, that's all. Edited by Heinrik, : No reason given.

same question in reverse
I don't see too many new body-plans. If Darwinian evolution is the way, then why haven't we seen any new animal phyla over the past 500 million years, give or take 20-30 million years? Where's the beef? Evo mechanisms just can't get it up and produce any longer when it comes to major new body plans and phyla? Hate to be crude, but hope you see the same question isn't very helpful for Darwinists. Edited by randman, : No reason given.

Re: same question in reverse
I don't see too many new body-plans. This question has been asked, and answered, in another thread. Please see Message 44.

Moderator Request
Hi Randman, It's been less than a day since you resumed participating in the discussion forums and already you're the number one moderator concern, primarily due to going off-topic, but you also managed to wander into violations of rules 4 and 5. You can't continue to participate here if you're going to be so dependable a drain on moderator resources. To everyone else: If you want Randman to stay here, you can help by ignoring those portions of his posts that are off-topic, or by just noting that they're off-topic, as Molbiogirl has just done. Edited by Admin, : Grammar.
